@hub53433 жыл бұрын
You know - this got me thinking that how AWESOME would it have been for, instead of the terrible Abrams Trek, Discovery, and Picard - for the series to continue with the TimeShip Relativity, and its adventures. Or even, instead of a prequel like 'Enterprise', to continue the voyages with the TimeShip 'Enterprise' directly flowing on from Voyager. All the awesome journeys, stories and conundrums, but this time unlimited in scope. Imagine all the great writing, similar to Dr. Who, visiting not just different planets but different times. Imagine going into their history, or going into their future. The possibilities are infinite, but also the stories could be full of depth, intrigue, historical analysis. Like Dr. Who, it could show the weaknesses of human nature in the past, or the future, and the heroes that come of them. This would in my mind be the best way Star Trek could go forward - forget about the JJ Abrams Trek, Discovery or Picard - let's continue with this Voyager trek but in a way that yields more possibilities, more lessons, and great intelligent writing.

It does make you wonder if relativity went back and stopped the incursion of endgame after the fact, so all we really saw in the show was a "snipped" timeline. (Hello Loki)
@omargoodman29998 ай бұрын
@@Nimbus3000 Either that, or *some* time travel is critical to the existence of a future in which they can retroactively police the timeline; and this is one of the time travel incursions that _must_ be allowed to persist because if they stopped it, that in and of itself would create a paradox. Eg. If the Enterprise hadn't gone back to help Zephram Cochrane do his first Warp Jump, that would prevent the whole future of the Federation and Starfleet, thus preventing the existence of Relativity and the Temporal Prime Directive. So if they undid that event, it unravels everything. Same thing with the jump that jumpstarts the computing revolution on Earth in the late 20th Century using the Doctor's Holo Emitter.

But don't worry, they'll all be reintegrated in time for the trial. As if that's the part Janeway was remotely concerned with. I also think it's cool that after Janeway's encounter with Seven before she joined the crew, nothing really came of it since, until Braxton shows up on the ship here. The pieces slowly come together but then when Janeway is taken to Relativity, it's the first time that, not only does the older Seven's story fully check out, but Janeway finds out the full scope of what's been happening over the course of years that to the older Seven and the Relativity crew has been like...a few minutes.

Okay, he probably wouldn't have been completely able to undo everything Nero fucked with, but he might've prevented the destruction of Vulcan. And considering he got Kirk to step onto a transporter pad and try to beam onto a moving ship that was light years away, which to his knowledge was at the time impossible, don't tell me he couldn't have persuaded the crew to help. Time Travel in Star Trek is woefully inconsistent, but the one thing they always do is try to fix the timeline. Not in Abramsverse though, no "Jim, Edith Keeler must die" here. Just "multiverse, everything's cool. Those 6 billion dead Vulcans don't really matter cos they still exist in an alternate reality".
