I think people get the wrong idea of what Science is. And as expected, Dr. Jo did a solid job in explaining it but I want to reiterate what I have learned from other as well (1) Science is not 1 study. (2) Science is the understanding of a certain topic (3) A study is data. It is evidence. (4) The more evidence you have, the better conclusion you can come up with (5) Scientists don't talk in absolutes. (6) A study / Evidence is not GOOD or BAD per say. It is on a spectrum. You have very convincing evidence, you have not so very convincing. (This typically falls in the order of Expert's Opinion ----> Observational Studies ------> RCT ----> Meta Analysi. This is debatable, but you should get the idea). (7) When you come up with a scientific conclusion - it should be a collection of this data and evidence to help you come up with a better understanding of the topic at hand. A lot of studies out there are very specific to certain situations. But we take them as general blanket statements to be adopted by everyone. A lot of the fault is the media. Media have a horrid time in analyzing data, don't have experience in Research Studies, and have a biased view point to sell headlines. Another problem can be doctors, who have their own issues... but we take a lot of the advice of these medical experts for their opinion on EVERYTHING. Another problem is online. As you know. But all of these also have good to it. With this said. Having a general understanding of this. Following the expert's opinion in their field. Comparing that opinion to other experts. Doing your due diligence will help you come up with a better decision.

Well said. I like what I believe Andy Galpin said "Science doesn't prove anything, it helps to get rid of the uncertainty." There is a brilliant podcast episode on the topic by Danny Lennon, Sigma Nutrition: "#251: What is Science". Highly recommended to anyone who wants to dig into that. Strength and Love, Thomas

This information is so old, look back into 1920s, a lot of it stems from research back from this time. Put the dots together, Otto Warburg, Warburg effect, the Cori cycle, Lactic acidosis (old definition), Glycolysis. The greatest Physiologist is Otto Warburg.

Ok really good episode. The only thing that Eddie thought he knew about but he didn't, was about the muscle soreness recoery tips, which was just good nutrition and rest. Well to me doing some low intensity work has been a game changer when it comes to muscle recovery, and not only me many other people. So... don't just rest, do some work, it'll heal faster.

bloodflow to the area certainly helps, however; when giving advice online - tell people to "good nutrition, rest & low intensity work" and you can bet your ass people will find a way to fuck up with the intensity and just create more stress... it would've been nice if it was mentioned, but I kinda also understand why he didnt, if he consciously decided not to.

Why are these sponsors getting worse? It's not the product. It's the approach. "Love it". "Do it" "We can't talk enough about it" "Red Juice, go buy it" Let's start with Myth #1. The value of these juices. lol

Kind of absurd to say that Keto is just now hitting bodybuilding. Dan Duchaine put out a cyclical ketogenic diet book for bodybuilding 20 years ago that was quite popular at the time.

Keto has been in bodybuilding for years and years...it's the ignorant crossfit cunts like this doctor who think this kind of stuff is only now hitting bodybuilding. These are the same ignorant cunts who think the brand CROSSFIT invented functional exercises or strength and conditioning.
