There are so many random creatures and characters that are never mentioned or seen again that for awhile I thought that movie was a fever dream I’d had as a small child (I only had the other two dvds).

My mom once told me about something called The Grading Curve in school, opposed to letter grades. Pretty much, the person with the highest score in the class is the 100% (even if they got a lot wrong) and everyone else's grades are based off of that high score. If most of the students got a 3/10 right and the smartest student got a 4/10 then the other students would get something around 80% or 90%. That's why they were all mad at Barbie in that weird quality and animation scene. And she felt so small knowing everyone around her would be pissed at her for causing them to fail. The typical thing for smart students to do in this scenario is learn what grades all the other students are likely to get if they try and then get just above that on their own test, so that most of the students can pass.

Although I do also know the Barbie version, I think the first few scenes are easily recognizable as being part of The Nutcracker. Then again I was surprised when many Streamers and KZbinrs did not recognize The Nutcracker Suite while not playing There Is No Game.

The "good grade nightmare" scene (although the whole movie looks nightarish) is very Murican. I had to explain to a friend once that a class is not supposed to achieve a Gaussian bell curve. His school did indeed adjust the grades so that all students would fit into the curve. When saying that the marks should (better: would) statistically come close to a Gaussian bell curve we simply take the exam results, or the final grades etc. and compare their distribution to a bell curve. If we find a significant discrepancy or a strong outlier it means that something is fishy about the exam, not wrong with the work of the students. For example if all students end up above the average mark, then the exam probably was too easy, if all end up low, the exam was too difficult OR - as it was several times the case with a teacher of mine - the teacher simply fails to deliver the subject matter accordingly. Oh and a strong outlier here usually points out that a student either cheated or has handed in their exam without putting effort into that; and obviously as a teacher you want to look into that. And then I once had to do a really weird multichoice test with interdependent questions. Basically, of a set of 4 qestions you had to solve the first one correct and then use the result in the next question and so on. So instead of a proper bell curve, we had to curves, because an almost equal amount of students scored either good or bad depending on whether or not you solved the first question of a set correctly. Long story short the exam results didn't count towards the final grades because of this nonsense. But most interestingly one of us -just one- scored a very decent average score. He simply didn't do any of the calculations and just randomly filled out the multiple choice sheet. But yeah, instead of using this statistical tool to review their classes and teachers, Murican schools instead falsify their statistics and harm the reputation of their students in the process.

Thanks for this video! ❤😂 Yeah, the Nutcracker is the love interest, he is actually a cursed prince and Barbie helps him take back his kingdom. It's based on the Christmas tale the Nutcracker by E. T. A. Hoffmann (?) and the Ballet and its music by Tchaikovsky and is legitimately the best adaptation ever made about this story. That song from the Barbie Diaries "This is me" that you were nodding to is definitely one you should also listen to. And the guy from Barbie and the Pegasus might be a jerk, but he's still the best written love interest for Barbie so far. You know, the only guy with a backstory, an actual goal in life, and who does not fall in love with Barbie within two minutes. Oh, and please listen to all the songs from "Barbie: A Faahion Fairytale"😁 Bibble is the best Barbie sidekick ever, and you better believe the fans will come for you. When you see the sighing baby polar bear with eye lashes from the Pegasus movie or look at the elephant with eye lashes from "The Island Princess", you're gonna change your mind and regret insulting Bibble. Although, maybe Bibble is horrifying and every other Barbie sidekick is even more horrifying, so the Barbie fandom had to love Bibble out of necessity? 🤔 Please watch the Fairytopia films, then Pegasus and give your honest review about Bibble in comparison to the ice bear cub. Please watch the movies! Watch them in context! They're so good. I'd highly recommend "Barbie as the Island Princess" and "Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper". I've heard that most people who watch Barbie say that "Princess and the Pauper" is the best. Maybe, I'm a little biased about this next one since it's one of my favourites. But "Barbie & the Diamond Castle" is so good. If you'd like something with a modern feel, I recommend "Barbie as Thumbelina" or "Barbie in a Mermaid Tale". They're both really good movies. One is about how even "the smallest person can make a big difference" and teaches an important lesson on taking care of our planet. The other is about a girl who loves to surf and lives with her grandfather until one day she discover a magical mermaid world.
