I would love to sing a duet with Strisand. It's hard to believe that she had problems with stage fright. But as a singer myself having always been comfortable performing for large audiences I'm a perfectionist also and would feel a sickening feeling from the fear of failure. Some nervousness can add energy to a performance. You just have to know how to control it and Barbara Strisand is a master of that, thank God.

Barbara's voice is as clean and crisp as it was the day she sang her first note and Michael has come a long way with his rich mesmerizing voice. This is such a beautiful performance from both artists. I don't think anyone else could sing or interpret classic standards better than Barbra. Out of the two duets songs I heard from this album, this performance is definitely a superior one (both artists' timing is excellent here). On the other hand, "New York State of Mind", a duet with Billy Joel is a different story altogether. It's a beautiful arrangement by Bill Ross. Billy Joel's voice is absolutely in top form. But BJ's voice and the strings-laden orchestra completely drown Barbra's waning top notes and you can hardly hear her voice after the key changes in the second part of the song. But no matter what, she still continues to dazzle me after all these years of being her devoted fan!

Streisand has long been (rightly) appreciated and lauded for her vituoso instrument and her flawless singing of show songs and the original pop music of her youth/prime which she certainly excelled at, winning a tremendous(ly devout) following... and hasn't her voice quality and tonal production held up over the years... very impressive... still... Ms. Streisand has never really been considered a great interpreter of the American Song Book/Standards by jazz critics nor those that ardently follow that musical genre/groupings of genres... and yet... this particular partnering with Michael Buble (whose clearly in HIS element) does sound very promising...

I remember watching Michael singing directly into his computer and posting on KZbin. I knew then that he just had to be great someday soon. So she was only 20 when u first heard her? Thats so cool. How was life back then and where are u from? Im from holland. And turning 33 in jan. I grew up listening to what my parents mostly my dad but mom too listened too. Streisand woman in love was one. Others ofcourse beatles beach boys mamas and the papas. I think my dad stopped a bit like around 89 to new music. Some that comes out now. But my mom keeps more up with the times and likes music i introduced. Music was always big part of our house before they seperared when i was 18. I now 3 yrs ago started to sing. Which i love but really cant. Lol. But now im to ill to go to lessons. Chronic ill. Crohn. Chronic pain morfine. Braintumor benign. Pressing against hypofyse. Year in bed now. Had 3 surgeries to get me a permanent iv in my chest its a box going under my skin to bigger vein. I need IV meds every 4 weeks. And for every mri ct scan. Narcose Or Antibiotics IV or painkillers during that. So now im in bed listening to music again 🎵 🙏
