I have owned both and I prefer the Mini Mi. I don't need the fold flat feature and the 10 hour battery life is awesome. The Mini S only lasts 4 hours, so not sure why he says 8 hours. I have a Samsung Note 9 and it was hard to balance it on the Mini S, but I had no problem on the Mini Mi. My only problem with these is that they don't have replaceable batteries. I have a Feiyu Tech A2000 which I use on my SONY a7III and it has 18650 batteries which I can replace when they get old. Not so with these Mozas. Great smartphone gimbal though. Last but not least, the Mini Mi has the Inception mode, which is cool as hell and I use it a lot for special effects. The Mini S cannot do it due to the stops.

I already have the Moza Mini Mi and really enjoy using it. The wireless charging was a big plus for me as the gimbal easily last a nice day out filming while also allowing me the ability to top up the battery in my iPhoneX without having to carry extra batteries and cables. Still, it's very interesting to see it compared to the new Moza Mini S. Thank you :)

Nice comparison. I got myself the Moza Mini S in the end. Haven't had a chance to fully try it out yet, but so far love it. Definite advantage that you can fold it, so it fits easily into my camera backpack. As a photographer my priority is my camera equipment so don't want this taking up so much space. The mini S fits onto the pocket of my camera bag. As you said, the offset motor allows you plug in a charging cable which makes the wireless charging on the Mini Mi redundant, and I can also plug in a microphone, which I couldn't do on the Mini Mi. Also love the trigger, which the Mini Mi doesn't have. So, so far I think I have made the right choice.

Just got the moza mini s. Had a little trouble at first now starting to get the hang of it, works unbelievably well. it used to cost thousands of dollars to be able to get smooth video like this but now just 70 bucks. Amazing how technology has advanced.

There's a video on YT where a guy places a mini MI on a tripod, used the tracking mode and it was so cool! He made a whole circle around the tripod! The mini s can't do that because of the motor stops.

Thank you very much for this comparison. Its the Mini-me for me because of the sturdy box so I can carry it with me on my motorbike. I like the absence of the stoppers on the motors so I can let it make 360-degree turns in inception mode. And the price in my country is the same for both models.

Have a mini mi but I can see some of the virtues of the mini s. I find the wheel on the mini mi is sometimes a bit awkward to use being an older user. Today was a good day. I like the idea of the S button on the handle to change functions it seems as though that would be easier. Maybe a retrofit to the mi would be a good thing for next version. Overall the comparison was very good presentation.

You had me until you mentioned that the mini mi does not go "flat" if you look at the arm you have it slightly extended, if you contract all point to their original places the mini mi will definitely go "flat"

Just bought and get it after i saw your review. I will send it back because: YOU CANT USE YOUR NATIV CAMERA APP WITHOUT A HEADPHONE JACK. You cant connect via normal Bluetooth. Only the app can connect to the device. Normal Bluetooth connection will rejectet. Anyway you cant mount a phone with a case on it, because the brackets are to flat.

Hi James.. nice review video. I got a few questions here. Noted that the motor has a stopper which makes it rotate around 200°. So how does the motion timelapse mode works. Can it capture 360° motion video? Another one.. If I use ultra wide mode video or camera on my phone will it capture the motor?
