Thanks for taking one for the team! I have ordered this tripod based on price/weight/performance reviews and I now know that I should not use it as an extended monopod unless I want to smash my camera! Thanks!

I think K&F Concept didn’t get a fair review here…it’s a light carbon fiber travel tripod. Of course it will have a little “give”. You need to always treat lighter gear more carefully. I have mine and love it. It’s exactly what I need. Think about your use case before buying. Mine was all about having a light tripod and being careful while using and relying on it to support my camera. I would never have thought to push the monopod version to maximum length and extend with the camera like that…any kind of shaking in that configuration obviously puts your expensive camera at risk. In summary, my opinion is that the K&F Concept travel tripod is absolutely brilliant, a lightweight, well engineered travel tripod. However if you need heavy duty, take that into account with your use case and go with something else. Something that has more metal in it with zero compromises-which leads to more weight. I wonder if the Man Frotto (sp?) has a monopod option, and if so, would it allow for extending to the fullest length and with camera attached, allow for a bit of a shake without a RUD? By the way, “RUD” means “Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly”. ;)

Aren't you supposed to unscrew the ball head & use that on top of the monopod, not the entire centre column?

this was an excellent review, no one talked about the monopod or the plastic to metal connection issue, so I'm extremely grateful. I think I'll be looking elsewhere for a travel tripod, but I am so glad I found your video. Worth the subscribe.

The video was great, but there is no way I would put a camera (maybe a GoPro or iPhone) on the end of any of my monopods and stick it out that far and shake it like that.

That's what I thought, that's not how you use monopod 😂

There is probably a note somewhere where is says do not hold monopod at arms length. As for all up weight, that actually means when the tripod is in compression. As engineer though, that thread is crap as is the clamping plastic on the middle post. I have loads of stuff from K & F though and it's all been good up to now..
