The ones who “can’t believe anyone would bully someone” likely have zero issues with their appearance, yet also have the capacity to know that such an action to bully is wrong, therefore you have integrity and that’s a good thing to never lose. But to those who look different, such an action of verbal cruelty is very believable, real, almost never shocking and sadly expected. One has to prepare themselves for such a possibility by knowing how to compartmentalize such a thing, otherwise you can’t wake up in the morning wanting to breathe in and out to start your day on your own terms, instead of a world who would rather you stick to the shadows, unseen. I’ve learned that the toughest people on this planet are not boxers, MMA fighters, nurses, doctors, test pilots, stuntmen or women, or even combat soldiers. What they all do is very commendable for different reasons and it takes great dedication to perform any of the tasks that are required. And a great degree of toughness for certain. The toughest of us all are people like this young lady who have to not only endure all sorts of seemingly endless medical procedures, but also endure a society that can and will judge you at any time, while never completely accepting you (yet pointing & staring is ok) with the cruel intent of not only removing your dignity, but also taking away your humanity, with impunity. And that goes on for a lifetime in all sorts of big and subtle ways. Yet this young lady wants to help others despite how she was treated in her own life. She sees the potential in all of us. She chose to take the path less traveled and in this case, it’s the hardest road not all of us would knowingly take for ourselves...because it’s too damn hard for many. She’s not afraid of that road and instead owns it. That’s a unique form of courage that we can all learn from and celebrate.

It’s called children. I don’t disagree with you, but when people send their kids to public schools, their putting them in a public space with children who either have not been raised well or have mean spirits, which puts your child in a vulnerable situation before they are ready. Someone who is bullied before high school seems to carry that with them in some way or another for the rest of their lives no matter how successful, pretty, etc they become. People should homeschool. in situations like these especially if they can
@DelaneyWalker Жыл бұрын
@@Charcharrashelltywuiwsorry but I grew up in a small private Christian school and was bullied to the point of having to switch schools and almost ending it. No teachers or staff did anything and I grew up there, mom and grandma worked there, no one did anything to stop it. It doesn’t matter what type of school. Kids are mean everywhere. To my surprise, when I switched to a Public school in 10th grade the bullying almost completely stopped. Kids were a lot nicer. Maybe it had to do with being a little older but bullying doesn’t only happen in a public school setting.
@kelsey23335 ай бұрын
@@DelaneyWalkerin my experience bullying does get better in highschool. Its 6th 7th and 8th grade that is bad. For me 7th grade was the worst year of my life. I've been able to overcome it, but it's still always going to be a horrible experience in my past.

Love her hair and graduation outfit . She radiates strength and character and her beauty and goodness really shines through !
I can only imagine how traumatizing this was for her and her fam. I’m a mom and I’m also the younger sister of a burn victim. My big sister was burned when she fell into a bonfire at 17 and 23% of her body was burned. 2nd & 3rd degree burns. The pain she endured during her recovery was horrific. She’s had 3 children all without and pain killers or epidurals and she says the only pain worse then the pain during transition is what she went through when she was burned. I can only imagine the guilt and heartache her parents felt. When you’re a parent you’d be willing to take any pain from your child. It must have been the worst moment of their lives. And for a child to experience such pain.... just terrible. When your little you haven’t built up any pain tolerance, that’s why little kids will cry over a bump or a little scrap. Why babies wail over gas pain. It just hurts my heart to think of a toddler experiencing that level of pain. I can also only imagine how tough it was to learn to be comfortable with her looks in such an image based society. Being a little over weight will cause kids to pick on other kids. As adults we feel judged for being to fat, or having to flat a butt, etc. I mean you can’t even have pores or natural skin texture in photos anymore. So it takes a lot of strength to learn to love yourself despite our looks obsessed culture.

I have two toddlers and hearing her describe the day, how her parents were getting ready for a holiday, and then seeing her little bandaged body- made my truly sick to my stomach to imagine any parent having a child go through that. I truly can’t imagine. My dad is a burn survivor and it’s absolutely the worst. Nothing more painful, dangerous, or debilitating. For life. It doesn’t ever go away. Mom guilt is so real!! And to think accidents can happen any time and change the course of your child’s life (and yours) is so insanely sad and scary.

I agree. I am Jennas mother and this was a terrible accident and I would never with this on anyone even my worst enemy. It was extremely heart breaking and I still struggle with things to this day. However God has great plans for my girl. As Jennas mother I had to deal with so much on my own but I made it! I also had to be strong for both me and Jenna for years of painful surgeries and therapy and I realized I wasn't going to sit back and feel sorry for us. So I kept my chin held high, did everything I could for her (as any parent would in most cases). Nor did i shelter her from anything. I didn't shelter her from the world either. I took her everywhere with me looking they way she did but I think that was a blessing for both of us and healing in a way. I have always encouraged her to do anything she wants. She is beautiful in many ways and has a heart of gold. I'm proud to be her mom and best friend!

@@oofoof6865 That is so nasty. Beauty is bigger than just meaning "having a face like a movie star". The comment isn't a lie, you're just shallow

There was a girl a couple grades above me who was a burn survivor.. I didn’t know her very well but I remember her being one of the absolute sweetest people and I really admired her. I appreciate this video and admire the courage and resilience to overcome these battles and to find peace amongst adversity.

You are an amazing person. Such a wonderful role model. Your confidence just shines! You are definitely going to continue being successful in anything you do. I think you would be so inspirational talking to Burn Victims in the hospital or Rehab centers and show others going thru the same injuries how much life is worth living. Your an excellent example of living life to its fullest after such an injury and how there’s no end to what a person going through similar injuries can do. Congratulations on Graduating college also!

Those individuals who bullied you have nothing to offer, but what they are. God keeps you alive for a purpose, to strengthen others, because you are strong and beautiful internally and externally. You are loved by God, your families, and the millions of others like me who are watching you now and the many videos you will post. Congratulations 🙏🏿❤️✅👍🏾🏅🎁🌻🌹👏🏿!
