OVERCOMING ADDICTION- How I Quit Taking Adderall

I posted this video 2 years ago. I am still adderall free. In so many ways I never thought i'd get here. There were so many times where I almost relapsed, but thank god you can't buy this stuff easily. I'm sooooo thankful for anyone who has watched this video. I want to hear from every single one of you. Please feel free to email me at emily11stone@gmail.com - also if you'd like to video chat on Zoom, or ever need to talk, please reach out.
Also when you decide to quit adderall, do not get discouraged if you happen to gain weight soon after. You HAVE to focus on staying sober, and the real you will be ready for those changes at a later time. Comparing yourself to others is an easy trigger. When you do decide to make more changes after quitting, just remember there are millions of ways to stay healthy. Lifting weights and eating salads is NOT the only way. It really is so important that you learn to love your sober self, and remember to give yourself more credit. You CAN do all those things without adderall (sing, dance, go to social events, take exams, study, or even lose weight). All of the things you think you can't do if you don't have it... trust me YOU CAN!
Seriously. I love you guys so much.

Thank you for this video, I’m losing my girlfriend to Adderall addiction. She has changed completely & you inspired me to believe that there is hope at the end of the tunnel. Your video might be able to change her, to quit and achieve sobriety. I will not give up & will try to support her even though she is a complete different person at the moment. I miss the girl I fell in love with. Thank you.

Bartosz M I know she will be that person again!! This drug changes us, but it’s not nearly as strong as the people we end up becoming once it’s over. She will come back I know it! Just don’t give up. It will be the hardest thing she ever does, but it’s all worth it. 100%

Adderall addiction is no Joke! It takes over your life, and having a prescription makes it worse. I've been clean 6 months now and have gained a lot of weight too. This video has inspired me to start working out and start a healthier life for myself, my husband, and my kids. Thank you for sharing. Adderall took 3 years of my life that I'll never get back, but I've taken the first step and have been clean for 6 months and 22 days and it's the best I've felt in years. You're truly an inspiration and it makes me feel better knowing I'm not alone in this. Thank you!!!!

Your husband, your kids, and your future self will be thanking you every single day and reminding you just how strong you are. Seriously keep me posted, I would absolutely love to hear more! You can email me anytime and we can even chat on zoom! Thank you again so much for this, I truly feel so blessed to know you as one of the viewers.

I don't know what to say... you might have just saved my life. It's been three two years since I've had hope for anything in life. After being put on medications, received tons of counseling and therapy, and after admitting myself to a psych ward, I still find myself overdosing weekly. I just about gave up on myself entirely; however, you changed all of that by giving me a glimpse of light in which I found hope for myself. The fact is, your story is also my story with the only difference being; I'm just a chapter behind. Thank you.

This comment means the absolute world to me! Please email me and let me know how you are doing now!! You can contact me any time! emily11stone@gmail.com . This means so much to hear that coming from someone as strong as you! To admit all of that and to even try counseling and therapy and admitting yourself to a psych ward! Is literally such a heroic and admiring decision. It took years for me to even do that, So no matter how far along you are in your journey. Congratulations, and i mean that from the bottom of my heart.

@@emilystoneworldaccount9254 um YES, this video is helping me find the courage to flush them, which is YEARS overdue.. I quit in sept 2014, got Netflix and Hulu and gained 60 lbs by April (when u quit)... and found a new doc... years later, much darker and scary... I've been wanting so bad to quit and the weight is the #1 reason/ excuse... and this video...omg.. if it's not today, when the day DOES come, I will be watching ur video on the hard days, but if I follow what u did and commit to a physical activity regimen, that would be wise..

I’m 70 years old. I have had ADD (without hyperactivity) since I can remember. Obviously I’ve taken my share of stimulants. I took them for years. I think before one can give that stuff up, you have to experience it long enough to begin to see how it works against you, over time. The confused periods, irritability,the times it just dosent seem to do the trick or worse yet, having your doctor retire and having to feel like a junkie getting a new doctor to prescribe it for you. At those points, you have the opportunity to realize you are better off without it. While I’m more distractable than ever, as I get older and don’t take meds anymore, I can always remind myself of those negative aspects and the urge will subside. At this point I’ve been off it for about 7 years and am better off for it. Yes I’m fatter and don’t feel invincible now, but life is more real now. Also I had basicly no withdrawals from stopping. I just cut the dose in half and then down to zero. Even if you are a legitimate ADD pt, after many years I think it’s not a very good solution in the LONG RUN.

I can't get time off from my job to get off Adderall. I don't care about anything until I take my Adderall. Any suggestions?
@emilystoneworldaccount9254
@emilystoneworldaccount9254 5 жыл бұрын
If you can't get any time off of work, or can't even get two days, the first couple days will be the hardest WHEN you quit... not if. Yes it will be extremely hard to deal with the anxiety and withdrawals while you are forced to interact with people, it WILL get easier. So much easier. First just start with one day. Then 2 days... then try a week. See how far you get, and remember any bad mood or things you might not care about because you're sober, those will get to be easier to handle as well. It's so fucking hard, but trust me it's SO worth it!

Emily Stone thank you! I'm actually four days off Adderall! It's been hard but I've been eating so much! I have no drive to be productive but I did force myself to clean my car out today! I have gained almost ten pounds in the past four days. That's a good thing because I was very underweight for a guy my height. I've noticed I'm very very irritable. Even the smallest of things set me off right now. How long did that last? Thank you for replying back!
