It's a bit of a trade-off at high switching frequency, some mosfets will have a better stability at higher temperatures, like a sweet spot where gate capacitance "switching speed" become optimal for the drive frequency.

my fix would be find a better mosfet if possible lol. i guess having wider DT is okay for LF job esp for loud gangs but ehhh i prefer squeaky clean output. good job, though. your fix is way cheaper than sets of expensive mosfet

For automotive environment the tiny increase in THD is negligible 😁 thanks!
@sedon709810 ай бұрын
Couple things. The thd on the irs topology is nearly unaffected by the death time. You just increase losses due to a higher conduction time for the low side fet diode and you decrease maximum power since the fets aren't on for as long. Also I would especially on the irs2094 increase dead time if there are no buffers since it does 0.5A max drive current compared to the 1A for the irs2092. Also overlap can cause huge ringing spikes when all the stray capacitances and inductances are literally plugged like a guitar string.

I will never understand some companies, a tiny amount of solder or 0 ohm links is cheaper than 2 resistors plus it would run cooler, absolutely doesn't make sense considering 99.9999% of companies try to SAVE money and want there product to be good lol Not to mention how big b2 audio is and how much reputation they have.

@barevids i have a question, i have a Brazilian amp same as the sfb 5k and i hooked it all up tuned it with a multimeter to 54v and it played awesome then went into protect so i turned off everything then turned back on came out of protect but the clipping light stays on and there is no output from amp, when i check it with the multimeter now it is saying that im getting 103v as the output what might cause this, thanks in advance

It is new though, so swapping out for another identical new amp would do nothing to alleviate the heat issue.

Amp is like 5 years old. Even though brand new. Most other issues are related to the introduction of fullbridge amps in our lineup. But they have sold in thousands

It's amazing how so many amps are not optimized these days, I guess that's what happens when you don't design anything in house and rely on overseas build houses. Just add "designed in _____" and pretend we did it ourselves, in any other industry it's called con artistry.
