Campaign furniture was big in the late 1960s and into the 1970s. It was a modern interpretation of the furniture that British officers took on their campaigns throughout the British empire in the 19th century. The corners and edges were protected by usually brass fixtures and the drawer pulls were flush so that they could be stacked in transit. I bought two small chests and gave them to our youngest son. His ex has them now, of course! I have studied furniture design for most of my 71 years and always buy any Baker furniture that I encounter. Good stuff!

I'm in the UK, that National Parks hardback would be an awesome introduction to your great country. So Casey couldn't find her box cutter, watch Rene pull out and use an orange box cutter then place in his pocket. Rene goes to open another box and reaches into his pocket and pulls out a yellow box cutter so funny lol. My wife and I love Mid Century furniture and architecture.

A family member gave me a mid century chair. The Upholstery shop charged me $700, to reupholster. The chair is worth $1,900. I thought it was a piece of junk, just thought it would look nice in my den.

Mid century doesn't sell quickly in Toronto but the right buyer is usually not far away. I like to old pieces and refurbish them. It's a hobby and I have come up with some nice pieces. Love your videos and your tips.

I love mid century furniture. Especially them. Omg i wish I could afford it. Being disabled on a very limited income I can't even afford food many times. Would love to of lived a different kind of life have struggled all my life raised 3 daughter's and 4 other kids for several years worked 3 jobs 2 8 hour jobs back to back then a couple hour job doing a friend a favor who owned a Subway. I closed up the store took day's work to the bank. Made sure the employees put enough bread to rise overnight then went home got 3-4 hours sleep And then did it all over again and again. Somedays weren't as bad because I worked the weekends sometimes so didn't have to work the 2nd job just went in later in the evening to the 3rd one. Then I started gett sick had to quit working in 1999. So hasn't been easy but very rewarding. Got everything I ever wanted that was to be a Mom.❤👍🏻😁

Not crazy about that kind of furniture just give me a simple dresser and Some drawers, and I’m good so no don’t like the fancy furniture, I am all about keeping it simple!! Thanks for the tips in the furniture business I work for the city in my home area and I am always finding old furniture thrown out to the curb. Some of the stuff is really nice though and looks like it just needs to be polished but I would never pay more than $100 or $200 for any type of bedroom set or a living room set,Thanks for sharing

Might want to double check that Belleek pitcher online....depending on the mark, they will be $15 and up to around the $80 mark. The wooden mallet looking thing was a potato masher... The plane is a moulding plane, for making trim/edges....they are not usually marked with a maker's mark, so the crown mark should lead you to a decent maker. MCM Furniture? Can take or leave it...some high end pieces are attractive enough, but most run of the mill stuff has a bland feel. My market for that furniture is other dealers or online...I am in a rural area, 3 hours away from our capital city where it is somewhat appreciated. I deal in prairie primitive and Canadian ethnic (Polish, Ukrainian, Mennonite) furniture, and have since I started 30 years ago.

Midcentury is ok if you have similar decor. I like it if it's paired correctly with other pieces. Love the yt vids. They are more authentic and seem more realistic because they are.

A lot of the China and porcelain that you've opened is either dealf or mison. It collected by many people. Also the Crystal that your daughter pulls out of one of the boxes if you feel the edges of the pattern if it's a sharp badge it means it's hand cut if it's not it's a molded and you can definitely tell the difference between the two.

Cool video. I am not crazy about furniture. In NJ were I use to live it was very hard to sell. I just never had the space to keep around. The one storage locker I did buy had some and I only sold like one piece and trashed some. Wasnt best stuff though. Will keep following.

That painting looks like an old master Italian artist or maybe a Denmark artist. There was one other smaller painting you unboxed earlier that was of the same quality. It was similar to a pieter dora inlay of stone that make up what at first looks like painting. But when viewing close up it made up of beautiful hand picked pieces of different stone anything from malachite to well you can name it but it looks just like painting but it's not The color gradation it is amazing work I didn't get a look at it very closely because you were unboxing and moving things around but it was a smaller picture and I believe it had flowers on it too The larger one is most definitely a nice painting you can go to just about any auction house and they do free appraisals I would have it looked at. I wouldn't sell it in your store without really researching and possibly getting a free appraisal.
