It shows that people can still respect and show a person some dignity!

I learned ASL when I noticed I have a few deaf customers. The look on their faces when they ordered and I replied back was priceless.

I had a Deaf customer where I used to work and because I wanted to be able to better communicate, I started learning ASL. This was about 8 months ago and it is something I'm considering going to further education after high school for when I graduate next year

She is awesome. Not a big deal for her but she learned a new life skill just by trying to be nice for one man. Props to her.

I wish this was CC'd or had subtitles so that I could see what was being said. But very sweet of her to learn ASL. It means a lot. :)

Tap the upper right hand corner of the video. Three dots will come up.Tap the three dots and it will bring up an option to turn on captions. I see captions are not available for this video.

This is great, and really sweet. Any chance that this video could be captioned so that deaf people can get the full story, too?

Most deaf people have an app for close captioning videos and on-line movies. My laptop, and desktop, computers came with a close captioning app as did my cell phone.

IMHO, every facility, that serves the public, should have at least one employee that can do sign language.

Great story. Take a look around at the people in your life. There is going to be an elderly grandmother, a disabled cousin...someone. Take a moment to do something nice for them. We so often leave these people alone that they live in great isolation. And a scary percentage of them wind up committing suicide. It doesn't have to be much. A card on their birthday, a call...just a bit of something. I work with suicidal disabled people. Just the tiniest bit of attention, would make all the difference.

Dear CBS Evening News: Why does this video, about an awesome Starbucks barista signing in ASL, not have any closed captions?? Many commenters below have noticed this fact over the last *four* years since the video was published. How can deaf people understand it? Please turn on closed captions!

Rather than write a note, why doesn't she actually quit being lazy and fully learn ASL so she can do it rather than telling him he's doing it. "three whole hours" wow! lol
@spoderman155 жыл бұрын
So she learned 4 words
@babawali30213 жыл бұрын
What's wrong with four basic words? It's a start. Perhaps in the four years since this was taped, she might have learned a few more words or maybe is even fluent in ASL.
