Some of these stories never cease to amaze me! There’s something about them, that when you think about it, the world would never have known about this if it wasn’t for Steve. It’s not a professional game, in fact stuff like this probably happens on the pro circuit plenty of times. But it didn’t happen to a bunch of pros who make obscene amounts of money. It happened to a bunch of high school kids who may never play basketball after they graduate. But there’s the beauty of it. Their coach, for whatever reason, had them write these names on the basketball. And this young man, because of his illness, chose his friend. And this amazing game happened along with the equally amazing play. Which any of us might never have known about or been able to see if it wasn’t for this show. These little 2-3 minutes of another person’s life. In the 1,440 minutes each of us are allotted it’s a tiny window in their lives that we have the privilege of witnessing ourselves. And while I may not always remember the story, there is a beauty in each one presented. As we receive these few minutes of interaction between a group of people who somehow intersected each others lives to bring about moments of the greatness that lives in all of us. It only takes a decision, turning in the fork in the road you never even realized was there. To cut someone a break, to offer a hand up rather than a slap down. To make ammends that weren’t yours to make. So many little decisions and we get to see each one as they unfolded thanks to the generosity of Mr. Hartman and his equally generous family for letting him do this!

I've always felt that there is something bigger than all of us and in the power of God. Although Josh lost his fight, I'd like to think that God had bigger plans for him, maybe even to be Spencer's Guardian Angel. A story like this helps bring hope to others who have lost someone they were close to in knowing that maybe they too are watching over them.
