It’s harder for goku to lock on to weak power levels like bulma’s parents (not saying he can’t). There’s also the fact he doesn’t know where the radar is in their house, only bulma and probably trunks would and looking would take a lot of time that they don’t have. Also making a new one would take a while

This and the next episode I remember watching with my great grandfather. Both of us got super excited when goku said " and this , is to go , even further BEYOND" watching again , remembering the memories I had with him, I am in tears and goosebumps. My great grandfather was like goku in a way. Pure heart, unbelievably kind, and protective of those he loved. I miss him so much, watching this is bringing back so many memories

Piccolo who's known to have the best sense of someone's ability also stated when seeing Majin Vegeta that he hasn't felt power like this since Gohan fought cell. That tells you enough that their power is comparable

I guess Goku's logic was, if I instant transmission myself to capsule corp it will still take me some time to find the radar, you know, with that not being my house and all. During that time Majin Buu could destroy the whole town and everything would go to sh*t. But Trunks lives there, he should know where the radar is, while I instant transmission myself to where Majin Buu is and stop him for some time until Trunks finds the radar. His plan was in fact better, is just that it wasn't explained well.

This is true. Even Trunks, with Dr.Briefs' help, took a while to find the radar. Without Goku stalling Buu he more than likely would've arrived in West City and wiped it off the map.

Goku has a hard time sensing normal people's energy. He has to sense the energy of someone strong, everyone else's blends together. So he can't Instant Transmission to West City. As for SSJ3, like Goku said, neither Goku or Vegeta actually believed Buu would be that strong -- so instead Goku favored just enjoying the fight like he normally does. Almost SSJ3 time!

Goku can’t IT if he can’t sense your energy it’s very difficult for him with how weak normal humans are especially while Majin Buu creates a energy smokescreen around the whole planet due to how strong he is. You have to have a discernible power level. Trunks also knows the grandparents and can get the radar faster than someone like piccolo who barely knows them. But also so the plot can happen lol.

The reason I think goku didnt bother with going for the dragon radar himself is cause he isn't good at finding things like that. even trunks took time finding it. if he had transported with trunks he would have had to anyway teleport back to buu to hold them off while trunks searched for the radar.

To answer Madison question why Goku couldn’t instant transmission to Capsule corp, It’s Because he can only instant transmission to a power level and since dr brief doesn’t have a power level he can’t get there

Instant transmission isn’t a technique that can be used to go anywhere Goku wants. It works by locking onto someone else’s ki. Bulma’s parents aren’t warriors so their energy wouldn’t be strong enough for Goku to get to them. Just thought I’d mention this since it came up a few times

Krillin is my favorite character of all of Dragonball franchise. But I don't think he was ever stronger than Goku. I think when they first trained under Master Roshi, Goku was stronger, but Krillin was more cunning and was able to trick him a few times into winning competitions with each other but in a straight up fight Goku had Krillin beat every time. They were definitely much closer to each other in strength, that power gap widened a whole lot starting in DBZ. Also I don't think they really had a concept of aura like when they were kids (even with moving water). I always took that flashback as Krillin being nostalgic and remembering the old days with sort of a biased influence.

Goku needs a target for instant transmission, normal humans dont have substantial enough power for Goku to lock on to, heck master Roshi barely qualified when he displayed the instant transmission for the first time. Thats also why Goku brought exploding Cell to King kais planet instead of the dead of space. They sent Trunks to retrieve the radar because he's lives at Capsule Corp and should be able to find the radar and get out more quickly than someone unfamiliar with the layout.

I don't Goku would even be able to lock onto Bulma's parents. Their PLs are probably even harder to sense than when Gohan was about to die. And that was so low up until this point Goku still thinks Gohan is dead. Also Bulma's parents refused to leave so it might be hard force them to go. And also I believe Trunks had to go due to only Bulma & Trunks knowing where the radar is. And since trunks is a lot faster than any of Bulma's aircrafts...it had to be him.

And this, I think, is where I start losing interest in the Buu saga. I like the M****c Gohan phase, because M****c Gohan rocks. And Mr. Satan having to step up is pretty great. But other than that it just feels like they're pulling new crap out their butts until they get to the conclusion. This is not to say there haven't been good things in this season; there has been a lot that I enjoyed. The Great Saiyaman! Vegeta's redemption! Videl, straight-up one of the best DBZ characters! All that has been great. But now's the phase where it's fights and fights, and that's not what does it for me.

It's cuz Toriyama didn't create SSJ3 till after the fight between Goku and Vegeta. He needed to make this fight different from the one of Vegeta vs Buu. That's why Goku never used SSJ3 against Vegeta. It just wasn't thought of till after that fight.
