Two years ago, my daughter asked to restore a 68-70 Charger with me. My cousin Joyce heard her story and said, "You know I still have dad's old Charger in the barn" My daughter and I went and looked at it so she could see if she did indeed want to work on a charger together. My uncle Larry and cousin Joyce both have health issues that were preventing them from getting it going again, but there was no way they wanted to sell the car. However, my kiddo said the way Joyce lit up when she talked about the car and how excited she got remembering all the stories made my daughter want to get it running again, so they could make more memories in it.
The kiddo and I turned to KZbin and started watching videos of what it would take to get it going again when we stumbled onto Dylan McCool's channel. I joined his FaceBook page and eventually had the chance to tell him the story, and ask for any advice that never made it on camera. He said he would love to help and document the process if we wanted. So this MSG is to show that we all need help from time to time. Sometimes the most difficult thing is learning to ask. The biggest blessing to our family was not getting this antique car running, it was creating the memories and getting to meet people like Dylan and Jacob who were willing to help.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. -Galatians 6:9
