When a vehicle sits the valves and rings may be rusted or stuck so compression may be low. Sometimes squirting some oil in the spark plug holes will help seal the rings and bring up compression. Cool little car!

@JJSmith11004 ай бұрын
@@StormsparkPegasus Stuck valves will cause no compression, but yes valves rings etc will all not be working as they were suppose two, Even with low compression you should be able to start the car if there is fuel and spark. I believe in this instance it is fuel related. Compression should build up and stabilize once the engine is running for a bit. Also I had injectors stuck on a car that stood for a long time. Out of the four only two worked but after a few minutes all came back to life.

i bought a 2001 Miata soft top convertible, from an elderly woman who bought it originally with her husband, who by them had been deceased for 10 years. She stored it every winter and drove it only in the summer and fall and it was in mint condition with only 15,000km (up here in Canada). It was this beautiful light blue/purple hew colour and I paid $10,000 dollars for it and then sold it 3 years later for the same amount.Would only sell it to someone who LOVED the car and would not drive it in the winter...pinky promise....I wonder today how the car is doing. What you have just spotted up in the sky (at the begining of the video) is a propeller airplane towing a glider. At a point when got high enough the glider disconnects from rope and continues flying independently. Rope brake point is usually arround 1500-2000ft or higher for safe return altitude. Once disconnected, glider starts climbing higher or just returns to airfield. Otherwise your videos are super cool! You guys are doing a great job on car cleaning and restauration. The OEM seven spoke "daisy" wheels are a very popular option on these first gen Miatas. You're mistaken about there not being affordable cars that are rear wheel drive. The Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ is rear wheel drive and in its second generation now. Affordable, four cylinder, rear wheel drive, and like the Miata, is also Japanese (no ragtop though, sorry). Checks all of those boxes. Jason Camissa recently did a video on these cars on the Hagerty channel and the video features the NA Miata's original creator too. Definitely worth watching.

I purchased a red Miata new in 1993. It was my only car for 9 years. I loved it! It was red with tan leather interior and tan convertible top. It looked really sharp. The 93 model was the last year of the 1.6 engine. In 94 they added steel beams inside the doors to meet safety regulations and upped the engine to a 1.8. You mentioned upgrading the stock wheels. Miata had a stock cast aluminum wheel that the higher models had, and that would look pretty sharp without having to go aftermarket.

I'm a mechanic. My first instinct was the issue is a timing issue. The engine is good, the car is worth investing in to repair it. Have a mobile mechanic or toll the vehicle to a shop to check engine light codes. Inspect timing related parts such as crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor and finally the actual timing and timing belt.

I bought a 91 for missus. Bought a hardtop for it too. I have some very fast cars but this is a blast to drive I paid 500 for the top. Now I see them go aa high aa 2500! I was lucky!
