words you never want to hear: "my mother is dead because of you..." Great scene. The end of the 1795 storyline had tons of great scenes like this, with Barnabas kicking ass.

I just found this info. about Jonathan Frid from a large Official Facebook Grp and from an official website as well. >>>>> "" Mr. Frid was a proud Canadian. When he retired he moved back to Ontario Canada where he had family and many friends. Jonathan Frid never married ( obviously ) and he never had any children. However, he was survived by his beloved cousins and his brother's children, and by his Grand niece and nephews who loved and adored him. They called him 'Uncle John'. He was dearly loved. Mr. Frid was not a religious man so there was no ceremony after he died. He never liked to be fussed over and he did not want a funeral nor a memorial. He preferred to be remembered alive and enjoying life. Mr. Frid did not want a final resting place in fear of the many obsessive fans he had who would seek out the grave of 'Barnabas Collins' and set up memorials and write graffiti about his character. He didn't want fans to put him up on a pedestal like a movie idol. He never wanted that kind of attention. Jonathan Frid said that many fans had trouble separating him, the actor from the character he had played. Fans would address him as Barnabas instead of his real name and they'd ask him a lot of 'vampire' related questions. He did not want those kinds of obsessive fans to bother his relatives . Mr. Frid would often say that he was nothing like his Barnabas character. He also stated several times that he would like to be remembered for more than just his work on Dark Shadows. He had twenty years of acting experience before he even appeared on the TV show and several years of doing dramatic readings in his reader's theater and in his one-man shows and his tour with the play, Arsenic and Old Lace with actors Marion Ross, Jean Stapleton and Larry Storch. Mr. Frid was so much more than just his Barnabas character. R I P ."" He is missed by his relatives, friends, fans and by his community.

@@harperstacey9604 yes that was very sad news, as Joel was such a kind, sweet, gracious guy. He loved his fans and he loved life. Sadly, there were three other actors from the show who also died from AIDS related illnesses, they got sick before doctors knew all the details about the illness, and not medicines back then to treat it. I'm just finishing the 1975 storyline, and Nathan has been one of the most interesting villains yet. At first, he was a scoundrel, but then he earned my respect in genuinely trying to help Victoria. Then he gradually became a villain who I loved to hate, but towards the end he crossed the line into merely being a loathsome character, and I couldn't wait for his comeuppance. His character arc was one of the wildest ones yet, and you can tell Joel Crothers enjoyed playing a character so despicable!

Forbes started out as an interesting character. He was a womanizer and a fortune hunter but he helped Barnabas hide Victoria Winters. He was flawed but not a bad guy. Then overnight they turned him into a one dimensional cardboard villain who would have killed Millicent and Daniel.

why they didn't also show about Barnabas Collins in strangling Jason McGuire and killing him after opening the coffin of Barnabas Collins?
@tenhirankei7 жыл бұрын
I remember the same thing about the series. Willie kept warning Jason not to do it, so his death was a foregone conclusion. It was difficult enough for people to accept the change that had happened to Willie, Jason behaving in a similar fashion would raise a lot of unnecessary questions. And the lesson against greed had already been played out by Willie's obsession with finding the Collins "hidden treasure".
