Barnblitz last is way more easily defensible than it seems like it should be, with all those flank routes. It’s like if a battleship took three torpedo shots to the hull and somehow stayed afloat better than ever.

From what i can see, its because 1. 1 flank route is a single person staircase/hallway that can be easily defended by 1 or 2 people. 2. The only other flank route is covered almost entirely by the main route defenses, and people looking around the corner can easily be shut down. 3. The spawn room is right beside the point, making it really easy to make a comeback after a team wipe.

IIRC pistols used to draw from metal they decided that sucked and separated them, but didn't change the pistol reserve I might be misremembering, but even if I am, I'm almost certain there was some amount of forgetting or not bothering to change it involved

Have you tried Hybrid Engineer? It is using the Rescue Ranger combined with The Jag to basically actively move your base around on the go with your team or at least do so with you sentry so your primary weapon is effectively your sentry gun and continually set up again and again for a more fluid and dymanic engineer who can actually save his buildings and using them to their full benefit for team and personal use instead of just letting them get destroyed or never built like Battle Engineer.
