Just my 2 cents, The goldie chrome bits could be nickel plating. Nice work Charly,keep it up.

I did wonder that, it dosnt look good whatever it is. I also wondered if it was laquared over and this has yellowed but it dosnt appear to. I have to admit I want to black more out but he appears to have likes a little gold so I need to think carefully.

Great bikes over all. Pull very strong and look cool but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

your super pleased ,,, I'm super pleased, if you had a local TIG welder guy the pipes may be able to be shortened removing the rust but then how far have they gone!

Hi John, I've had a closer look at them and they aren't as bad as I thought. I will do some patching up, cleaning and then wrapping and they should be good as new.

Nice bike, I did a compression test on my piaggio leader engine yesterday got 120 until took off carb then got 155, did you take of carb to do test on typhoon engine.
@motorcyclerescuer3 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, the best way to do it is with the carbs on but throttle wide open. This gives you the correct reading. I think by allowing so much more air in that your reading may not be correct. I'm not fully sure though. The bottom end on mine is ruined so a second hand engine is needed really. Thanks for watching and commenting mate.

Always great work Charlie ! Is that bike sentimental to the owner ? Not familiar with the bike or its worth .The reason for asking is, that bike will cost a small fortune to due a complete restoration on. Is it worth that kind of $$$$?? I also know it's worth as much as someone is willing to pay . Just curious 🛵👍
@motorcyclerescuer3 жыл бұрын
No its not worth much really, possibly £1500 once done. I'm trying to convince him to have a more basic restoration so hopefully he trust me. It has a lot of sentimental value to him.

@@motorcyclerescuer I see ! Sentimental speaks volumes. Outsource the paint & chrome plating, it can be done. Cheers 🍻& Goodluck Charlie

@@just4kicks950 I think I'm going to avoid chrome and do paint. The red frame sticks out alot so I think the bike needs more black.

I noticed those air pod filters on each of the carb inlets. Is there any benefits or problems that you get from using those instead of the stock airbox? I just got my own zl600 and am trying to fix her up.
@motorcyclerescuer3 жыл бұрын
Hi Braden, you are always better of using the original airboxes. People will.swear that they have air pods working on their bikes but it's just not true. If you buy expensive pods like the k and n then you have more chance of tuning correctly but it's not easy. I only ever use air pods if I can't get an airbox anywhere around the world. I hope this helps. It can be done but runs best on its airbox. Thanks for watching and please subscribe.

Thank you so much! Yeah I just hated how hard it was to take the original box out (I know it’s gonna suck putting it back in). I am new to bikes, and not super mechanically inclined. I’ve been using your content and Nats content to help me along with my old zl600. You guys rock. I have subbed to both of you because of your help!

@@bradendahlke197 thanks mate I know Nat well so that's really nice to hear. When I first got a zl600 I cut the airbox out because you had to drop the engine out to get it out, 1996 model I think. I'm very inpatient lol. I regretted it big time when I realised I could get another anywhere in the works. You will get away with using pods if you do some Tuning but if it rains heavy you will be left stranded. I think the k and n oil is to stop that happening though. You may get more support from me, Nat and a few others if you join our Facebook group ( motorcycle rescuer and jakecorb parts) Thanks

Thanks again man, I will try and join that group and maybe keep you updated about my progress or even show you guys the end result! I’m hoping to be road worthy in about a month or two. Thanks again
