I absolutely love the fact that Baroness never conforms to a typical song structure... normally you get verse, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus... baroness might give you a five minute intro, two lines, and a three minute outro

Same with intronaut, you’ll get a long intro, they’ll sing a few lines, they’ll play for a couple minutes with no lyrics at all, then you MIGHT get something resembles a chorus, and then another couple minutes of music with no lyrics 😂😂

More record stores should do that. My local record store did it for the first time recently and it was great.They played a new album twice really loud and sold coffee as well as beer. It was packed.

One thing I really dig about Baroness.. Is they're so good at writing tasty hooks.. but they don't grind them into the dirt and rely solely on that one hook.. It's like.. here's a little tasty nugget.. Oh.. now we're going this way.. Ohh. there it was again.. bye.. now it's onto something else.. Definitely keeps you engaged and guessing where the song's going next.

This album gets a lot of flag for it's sound, but I love that they dare to add a new colour to the palette of rock sound. Some of the parts on the album sound really broken and weird, and I think that they were having fun creating those sounds. With a master like Dave Fridmann on the dials, they knew what they were doing. The rock/metal world can be a conservative space, so thanks to Baroness for stretching the boundaries. Great song btw.! :)
