@@buttpiratesbuttpirate5913 this comment is underappreciated. Tendering out customers is a stressful job, but it's not a hard job. If you get the right job, they will even tell you what to say to the customers if something goes wrong. If you understand psychology, you can add some elements to make people calm down, as well. I think the hardest thing to do as a cashier is tendering cash, especially when you have to deal with a lot of change and the customer is impatient. Most people pay in plastic and doing so avoids that entire thing.

My mother owned 2 bars growing up. One when I was very young and it was fairly successful. She only drank socially then. The last I was of age and she became an alcoholic. I worked for her until I just couldn't watch her drink herself to death. She would "comp" her own drinks and those who drank with her. Her drinks alone were enough to sink her bar, up to 32 a day/night, add her "friends" to it and she ended up in huge debt. I got together with my siblings and forced her to sell it. She lost her butt on it but she didn't die. She's still a drinker but now drinks at home. We all lost our relationships with her because she blames us but whatever.

It seems all the golfers (including Jon) were male, but I look up "Valkyries" and read "...in Norse mythology, any of a group of maidens who served the god Odin and were sent by him to the battlefields to choose the slain who were worthy of a place in Valhalla." My guess is that none of the bar owners are going to Valhalla... the Valkyries will probably be honored to be known as "Rachels", too... or "guys".

You could see with bar #3 the two owners were petrified to be around the guests or employees..... it makes you wonder why they would open their bar in the first place, or maybe it got like that over time. My father owned a bar for about 3 years when I was a kid. I know he was there 24/7. It's SO much commitment, you gotta try any way you can to make it successful.

There's one restaurant here in town I would never eat from. I have seen the kitchen. In the double sink in the back in one side they had frozen chicken and in the other side they had Frozen fish. Both were completely immersed in water. First it ruins the protein for cooking because it is waterlog and second it makes it unsuitable for human consumption because it is in the danger zone for bacterial growth. Another time a bus pan full of raw chicken half uncovered on the floor where flies could just land on it and lay their eggs. Also, moisture could drip from underneath the sink onto the half uncovered raw chicken.

The Fifth: Illegal in the first place, and closed in 2021. The 2003 (yes, 2003!!) name change was never approved, so this bar was actually an illegality when Bar Rescue showed up at it. Pepe's: Owners didn't give a shit. Sold the bar shortly after the episode and moved on to their five other businesses. It's still open. King's Duck Inn: Went up for auction, 2021, no buyers. Kaput. Ray's: Ownership change to the niece.

So glad to see how our health departments and inspections are assuring our safety! The conditions we're seeing take time to develop so it's painfully obvious these government agencies are failing us. Myself, I've been to rowdy bars and sometimes enjoyed them but that last guy, I'd have walked out. Actually did that a couple of years ago, walked in with my young adult daughter one night for their famous burgers. The owner was absent, the heavy metal was so loud we literally couldn't talk so we left. I eat well and tip well, they lost money because it was a loud party and not a bar/grill. I did speak to the owner....I know him....and I believe it was addressed. Been back with my other two daughters and had a fine time.
@juliannolastname24422 жыл бұрын
Health inspections are far too reactionary and too susceptible to bribes. They only come in once in a blue moon or when something is reported, and all too often a couple hundred bucks shuts them up.
@travisslade68602 жыл бұрын
It’s wild to me. I live in Florida and worked in restaurants for years. At least in my experience the health department came in unannounced and would follow up on any infractions. Seeing these places I don’t see how they could be in business.

This is a great show I hope that many restaurant owners and bars watch this. I learned so much from the show about motels hotels that I implemented the cleanliness in my own home and every time I stay at one I tell the managers what needs to be changed. It’s improved my home and both my daughters. It’s very important. This guy is clearly an alcoholic.
