Man, I’m so envious of how much free range you have to stretch the beautiful MRAD legs. I have the exact same setup as your Lapua and agree with the AccuTac bipod. I love the 4016 cantilever Spurh mounts too. My ATACR does not have the Christmas tree but still happy with the NF scope. I plan to go to TX in May to shoot 1 mile. Keep up the good vids.

@@MountainsMulletsMerica that's where I am living now, just no room to stretch the legs in GA. Had to go to Dead Zero in TN for a 1000 yds, conquered that no problem. I will follow your path a get a 300 PRC barrel too. Was thinking of a silencer for the MRAD but just love the sound of that rifle too much.

I'm sure trying to provide us visuals was not only challenging but costly. Hopefully someone gives you a few tips to help with some of these challenges as you're obviously very talented. And obviously that MRAD + Scope combo was quite the investment. Keep up the great work. If it's not too arrogant of me to suggest ... perhaps consider consolidating the explanations over portions in which you're shooting. And after watching and seeing you reach the limits of the 338 and based on the name of weapon, hopefully it's not too expensive to throw a BMG barrel in it to test it's comparative performance.

Hands down 300PRC or really any of the big 300 magnums. I actually have a video comparing 338LM and 300PRC out to a mile. 300PRC is flatter shooting, lower recoiling, and lower cost than 338LM.

Apologize for my delayed response, I wanted to get more experience with barrel swaps before getting you an answer. I actually plan to make a video around this. What I’m finding is when I pull a barrel and reinstall the same barrel, POI is extremely close/ if not the same. At most I’ve seen a .3 mil shift vertically with my 300prc barrel. That said each barrel has its own POI however but from what I’m seeing that POI is consistent and repeatable.
@cleaner6666
@cleaner6666 2 жыл бұрын
@@MountainsMulletsMerica Thank you. That confirms with my experience. I found that during installation the same barrel again i try to put it in in the same way and maintain the torque of the screws. If the barrel has an impact shift to another barrel, thats ok and not that important because i can note and align it with the scope and set the settings
@MountainsMulletsMerica
@MountainsMulletsMerica 2 жыл бұрын

Excellent rifle topped by and excellent scope. Congrats! Surprised the SIG rangefinder went tits up. I use Bushnell ARC 1 Mile LRF binoculars that ranges barely to 2000 meters. I'm sure your RPR is like mine and does NOT nave and internal but lock. That is the same as all RUGER American rifles as well. What a cheapo design that hurts and otherwise great action.

@@MountainsMulletsMerica Haha. Ok. I saw the ADG box and wondered. I do use ADG and Bertram brass in a 338 Edge. I joke that the Edge is like a Lapua, but for men. @@bosshog340 you know one of these days I'd love to try a big boy 338..... 338LM really doesn't perform as well as the hype made me think. I much prefer a 30cal mag but one of the big 338s like 338 edge might make me more of a fan of the 338 bullet than I currently am haha

@@MountainsMulletsMerica The Edge has a bit more case capacity but it really isn't leaps and bounds over the Lapua. It is very accurate though. Plus flinging a 300gr Berger at 2900 ft/s is pretty awesome. Mine was built by the creator of the cartridge at Defensive Edge. He now has the 338 Terminator you might look at.

Is it Mrad or Mrad Mk22?
@MountainsMulletsMerica
@MountainsMulletsMerica 2 жыл бұрын
My rifle specifically is the MRAD. My understanding is the same base rifle but the MK22 runs 300NM, 338NM and 308 for calibers, has a slightly different color and includes additional accessories that I don't have. My opinion however is the performance that I see out of my rifle is inline with the MK22.

@MountainsMulletsMerica
@MountainsMulletsMerica 2 жыл бұрын
I'm actually in the middle of confirming this right now. I've got to get my 300 PRC load dialed in and then I can give you a confidence answer. What I'm seeing initially is the 300PRC barrel with 230 atips is hitting about .3 mils lower than the 338 with the 285s at 100 yds. I hope to get a video put together when I get things locked down.
