Both lost this year. Both wonderful. How nice to see them together.

Barry Cryer was the one I first heard saying the line “Nurse, he’s out of bed again!” For when someone is being a bit daft. My wife sometimes uses it on me, and I, on her.

I'd forgotten how bizarre this show could sometimes be. Two greats of British comedy plus the incomparable Leonard Sachs, of course. RIP all three.

Wow this brought back memories. I used to watch this every week, It was a good old fashioned variety show. I thought this was Tom O'Connor for a minute, not Barry Cryer.

Wonderful performers, but, with an equally wonderful chairman "Leonard Sachs", I was always wondering, which amazing words he was going to use, to describe the next act. I only saw the last 20 yrs of it`s 30 yr run, but, it has been missed ever since, this was real entertainment. Also, of course, "Leonard" played "Lord President Borusa", on Dr.Who" during the "5th,Dr.,Peter Davison`s" tenure. R.I.P. "Leonard" If you do not mind, I will "Add To" my page.

I think you'll find it's Leeds City Varieties where they always staged it. The theatre's still there but Leonard Sachs passed away in 1990,

Any recordings of Baz's Scottish act on this programme, where he wore a tam o'shanter?

Is this where the stand up/sit down thing originated? My elementary school teachers used to do that with us.

Wait! Is that the same theatre/stage/studio/whatever that was used on Doctor Who & The Talons Of Weing Chang?

Good, honest, decent, fun television. The woke BBC would cancel this instantly!
