I'm old (Sugarhill Gang Old). I saw Marshall Mathers come onto the scene, carve out a niche with shock-rap and then morph into different personas and fade out. Being the first is being the first... and that's huge, can't take that away but you won't always maintain the crown. In some hearts maybe so, but if someone comes along that reaches the masses, more of an age range, has a uniting message and has no big money help... then you have to consider that the crown is being passed to the next generation... as it should be.
