In addition, had more international goals by far. Help me understand why Messi is so much better when clearly not been tested as much? CR7 proven himself time and time again. I’m honest enough to see Messi is having a good World Cup this time but first one in a long time. Last World Cup for example he was so poor. One goal. Why was the debate not over then but it’s over now? Anyway for me Ronaldo Nazario at his best is better than both of them at their best. Respect to Ronaldo and Messi for being good for longer. They’re also fortunate to not have major injuries.

You are confusing athleticism with talent. Ronaldo may be more 'athletic' in terms of running speed and striking power (with great accuracy), but in terms of pure supernatural skill with the ball, creativity, awareness-and-vision, playmaking, and outfoxing all opponents, Messi is on a completely different level. Suprised that - as experienced football players - you cannot recognize this.

I will say that once a person who is well versed in football and bias' aside hears someone say ronaldo is better than messi (notice i said better not preferred i have no issue if someone prefers one over the other) unfortunately it immediately comes across as the person lacks understanding or has had far more exposure to ronaldo than messi. Messi is by far the better and more effective footballer

this is a video of his goals so it doesn't cover them, but I almost think his assists are even better. You said what would you do as his team-mate, and I've played with a guy who was excellent at taking players on, but rarely passed so you just kinda gave up giving him an option and it was kinda no fun. But Messi knows the right point to pass and does it often, so as a team-mate you can have confidence in making yourself an option.
