Been lucky enough to chat with George when I stopped in for a slice and a Peroni. He was sitting at the table and my brother and I struck up a conversation with him, very cool guy. Effortless and funny conversation, a real people person. One of the main reasons I always go back. Also, their pepperoni bread sticks are out of this world.

Been a fan of Giorgio's for years and used to smoke cigars with him before he owned it! The meatball sub was my personal favorite! He also owns Greek Islands restaurant a bit South of there, near the stadium. I never worked for him, and have no real connection to him at all these days, but he's a great guy and definitely knows his food.

George is part owner now since Giorgio died. When I was a kid, my stepdad's parents would take me here before an Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra concert (step grandma used to work for the ISO) and Giorgio would be working behind the counter. He was pretty up there in age. I last saw him when I was 10, I'm 23 now. I think he died in 2011 or 2012? Could be a bit after that. Pizza isn't quite as good as back then, but it's still pretty damn good. My last job, whenever I had a call downtown, I took lunch at Giorgio's.

Giorgio’s (unrelated to this one) in Crystal Lake IL is in my top three favorite deep dish pizzas in IL. You should also try Uncle Jerry’s in Cary IL. Both places are an hour NW of Chicago and the ingredients and quality are top notch.

I worked downtown Indy for 5 years and still get down there now and then. I ate Giorgio's at least once a week, sometimes twice. What makes the pizza so good there is how they make the dough so it can be thin and the crust is not chewy like a bagel as some other pizza places make it. I agree with the score Dave gave, totally on the money and now I want to drive down for another slice.
