I am so glad I saw your review. I also have purchased one and I thought it must be my dogs. This does absolutely nothing. They continue to bark non stop. I have tried everything. Rewards when they obey. DIstraction. Ignore them. Whatever the barxbuddy is not for my dogs.

When using this device you have to give a command, you can't just point it and go oh well he didn't listen. The first time that you point it, you're supposed to give a command and you're also supposed to reinforce with a treat for him stopping the behaviour. as soon as he looks at you, then that's your que! he's looking to you for guidance. reinforce that with a good treat. Of he's nipping your hand it must do something. It might not have worked with your dog but it might work with others. I've seen some really good reviews on it.

That's what I tell that to people all the time! Consistency is 🗝️! You also have to make the animal aware that you are in control not them! Rewards and/or praise is helpful with positive reinforcement! Great feedback btw!

Mine just arrived today ..I used it on my dog and I didn't even have to give a command ...I said her name pointed it at her without turning it on and off like he was doing and she stopped! It does work!The key is consistency!

It's not going to work over night it might take a little longer with some dogs then others but if you follow the instructions or the tutorials there should be no reason why it won't work .I have many friends that have aggressive excessive barking dogs and they have used it per the instructions and their dogs behavior have improved and it's been working for them!

You have to first train your dog of what behavior you want corrected. Lets say barking - When he barks you press the device, give a command, if he stops, he gets a treat....every time he does what you want, he gets a treat, favorite toy or praise. Its not instant, you need to train your dog which will takes time and patience. Good luck!

I got my baxbuddy three days ago and have used it from the moment I got it. She’s been good so far. I did got an instruction to use. It said to not scream at the dog or tell them anything when using the device. You have to point it at them and not flick it on and off leave it steady and they will get it. For my dog she’s been doing great with it. Funny thing is my cat’s behavior is also getting better.

Hi I just bought the barks buddy mine came with directions you need to press and hold while standing and pointing in front of the dog until the dog stops then you let it go you praise the dog either with a treat or treat and praise it’s not just click and the dog will stop. just to give you a little info since you said yours didn’t come with directions good luck

Try changing the battery. I got a different version and it's amazing. But if your battery isn't good then the sound won't emit proper.

It`s supposed to be an aid to training,for eg,dog barks,you press device and if dog stops you reward.Hardly rocket science.There`s no point in pressing the device if the dog is doing nothing wrong.I wonder who`s got the upper hand here.Maybe the dog should try to train you?

I was about to order one for my boy Yorkie, all he does is bark I don't care what it is he's at people, car's, birds and so on, drive me crazy he's doing it now. Hello again Adrian, my brother lives in LA and he has a neighbor's that has a dog just bark all the time waking him and my sister when they had to go to work. So he turned me on to this Anti Barking Control, the little black or brown box and it works. If he sees me going to the box he stops barking. It says for out doors but u can use it in doors. Now it helps with my boy Yorkie but it doesn't bother my little girl, LOL nothing bothers her. Try it and let me no I'm pretty sure it will help with ur big boy. I went to Amozon and I got mine for eighteen dollars. Have A BLESSED AND SAFE DAY....

I would not use any device Like that on my dog. If it is stopping him from doing something he wants to do then there is no doubt it is causing him some kind of discomfort. I Train him the old fashion way, by giving him treats. I trained mine by not giving him treats when he is bad, and only gave him treats when he is good. It works once you get your dog used to getting treats only when he is good.

Ok got mine in the mail just yesterday. Juice the Pit and Kyro the Rotti. Yea these jokers were like WTF is that then went right back to arguing with each other "barking". Took Kyro outside, he immediately started tearing chunks of grass out the yard, pressed the button he took off running really fast scooping really low tearing more grass. So I'm like Dude said it pissed him off. After that, he didn't listen at all. Kyro got a good work out though running 8 laps around the yard at "Bolt" speed. I now know I have an Olympic star in the making. Juice the Pit just looked and was not caring about this thing at all. I am going to see how this thing works for a couple of days. If it doesn't have any results soon I will return and get my $39.99 back for sure.

You have to use word commands as well. Otherwise the dog just hears a punishment sound but gets no direction.

Use rewards after each positive action from your dog. Don't stop using the device, correct your dog nipping you by using a prong or e collar. One day he's going to cross the line and bite you.

My GS same reaction as yours but there is also a laser. So my dog thought it was play time and loved the thing. Turns out …playing laser with a GS is not a good thing. My dog was given to me and everything they bought for her came with her. This was one of the things. If they actually knew anything about dog trailing they would know how bad the laser is. I had no idea

Walking away is what you should do. There is no shortcut to training a dog. Leashes are not normal and leash reactivity is common. Teaching a dog in a positive way, having realistic expectations, and knowing it will take time. That’s it.

The device emits a signal that you can't hear! The dog is reacting by yawning and other subtle signals that you are not even picking up on. This device does work - I have one. If you want to stop your dog charging at ppl, get a prong collar.

read the directions, it does come with them. its not a miracle device, you have to train them every day with it. both my dogs respond well to it. dont treat it like a deterrent for anything, more of tap on the should to say hey dog, look ant listen to me.

OK, I can tell just from the first minute or so, this dude just doesn't know squat about training in general, much less using a device like this as a tool to help with training. This is someone who wants an easy fix and definitely shouldn't have a breed like a GSD. Dude, if you have issues like you suggest in this, you have an issue that has gotten to far already and thinking this, or ANY, device is going to instantly fix that is just naïve. If I'm doing the math correctly, this dog is almost 3 now. I hope for his sake and others' that you either got help from a pro or rehomed him to someone who knows what they're doing.

This is NOT an overnight miracle device it's going to take some time hence the word Training ok but you have to use it correctly! The company does not advertise that it's instant infact it advertises that it's NOT instant but if used correctly it will work as advertised! If I was there I would help you! Training our dogs take time! It's not overnight and you shouldn't expect it to happen overnight or in a few days!

Ya exactly if your dog stops barking or whatever you have to immediately praise him/her with a treat or something. I just got mine so im hoping it works but for the most part i think that people dont realize that things like these aren’t gonna just gonna fix your problems. It happens over time and you cant just let the device do the work you also have to put in some work with it!!

Amber R The device is okay, my personal experience with it was a slower process then I thought it would be, however it has definitely made a difference with my dog’s behavior (barking mainly). I don’t necessarily have to have the device for him to stop barking now, because I would say “No bark” when using the device. I would recommend making a command that means No barking so your dog understands even without the device that they need to obey whatever the command is. One more thing that is super obvious, but always say “good boy” or something so they know they were right to listen to the command. Sorry for the long paragraph, but I want to make it clear that (in my experience) the device is NOT pointless. It does work, but only if used correctly. I hope this helped you or will help you in the future.

Amber R It a actually took awhile I think it took a month or so maybe longer. I will completely honest I wouldnt buy it because first it doesnt work too well, the price, and the time it took to be delivered. Save your money and your time. It almost works just as well to carry treats and say “no bark” and just reward him when he obeys. Once again i hope this helps your final decision.

and that’s what you should do- walk in a different direction. It is entirely unnatural for a dog to be on a leash. They have reactivity on leashes and there is no shortcut to working with them in a positive manner, over time.

Just putting this out there. I know shock collars only work real well when the metal prongs are firmly on the dogs neck. So maybe try making sure the metal is on the skin and not on top of the hair. Can you make another video and let’s me know if it works?
