I've been doing my homework on both products, which of course lead me here. This video is informative. But I noticed that there is another key design that we should consider. The original basebar has a conversion kit which is incompatible with the pro. Makes more sense to me if I invest in the original and the conversion kit, instead of getting the pro and a b bar.

Hi, I've been following for a while and started to take better care of my self. I got a couple of parallettes (a tall set for dips and rows and a small set for pushups), so far I have lost 8 kg and I feel a lot stronger. My plan is to keep going on the weight loss and the more advance exercises. Also your spinach smoothie is the best (my new breakfast). Cheers!

One small detail I noticed is it seems the Pro has smaller bend radius ( I may be wrong but based from the side by side comparison)so it probably give you more useful wider width for wide pull-ups.

1:55 That is indeed a nice design feature. While it also takes some time to slide the feet back out, having the option to put them away at all is a considerable upside. As you said at 3:58, it comes down to storage. I have two no-name bars to use as improvised parallel bars exercises (that don't even have pins like the Original BaseBar). They take a lot of space, but I don't mind because I do have a workout area. Their total cost was also about as much as the price difference between these two products, lol.

Well since I did have your ear online, I wanted to run one more issue to you. As I stated I am 68 years old but I’ve been working out constantly minus a few years while I was in college but like you I love working out and always makes me feel better. I had this crazy idea I am thinking about getting certified as a certified fitness trainer, however, everything online talks about online courses or an organization for online training. Since you are a certified fitness trainer and nutritionist any ideas on how I can do this on my own getting the test study guides then taking the exam. Not that I am looking for a shortcut just looking for a more economic way of getting certified. I appreciate your feedback and the content which you provide. This type of content and feedback is very helpful and motivating thank you.
@MinusTheGym2 жыл бұрын
No problem, man. I’m certified by ACE (American Council on Exercise) but there are several different organizations that offer certifications you can look into (ACSM, NASM, etc.) I’m not sure of a more economic way to get certified, though. All the companies charge a pretty penny for both the study materials and the exam. Once you’re certified, you have to renew your certification every two years by passing courses to earn CECs. All the courses are online and cost about as much as the original exam, so expect to pay a couple hundred dollars every 2 years or so just to keep the certification. You can become specialized as you renew too because the CEC courses can be about nutrition, functional training, flexibility, etc. and earn you additional certifications in the process. There are some other specialty fitness certifications you may want to look into as well. Al Kavadlo has a Progressive Calisthenics Instructor certification program. I’m not sure how much that costs, but I believe it’s a workshop you attend. That would be a lot of fun. I hope this info helps.

Good day to you yes you are correct working out is a practice. Have a quick question for you as I enjoy all of your videos want to get a incline bench been researching quite a few name brands could you recommend or talk about one that it would be a good incline to think about mine. Thanks again for all your content and the things that you do for all of us helping us get motivated to stay in shape.
@MinusTheGym2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I don’t really have a recommendation for an incline bench. I don’t use benches too often. I do have an adjustable bench that I bought from Walmart years ago, it’s okay, not the greatest, but I don’t remember the brand.

The Pro version is taller at its highest setting 54 inches versus the 52 of the regular basebar it is a difference for me the extra 2 inches of clearance
@Moving4Well9 ай бұрын
Is there much you could do with the Pro with proper rings attached (not the Baseblocks ones) or is it just too low compared to hanging them from a proper rack or a tree? Thanks, great review 😊
@thestoic9892 Жыл бұрын
Why did you not mention anything about stability. When you do pull ups on this the basebar is not stable and hard to adjust height. you should be more transparent on your videos. I did purchase do to your positive review

Hello, been watching you for sometime now and love the continent, good stuff… I have been doing dips for sometime now and normally hopped up on a half set up gymnastics bass bar but I did not know there was such a thing available. I want to get the base bar pro as soon as possible however I have a question for you, if I use your link below could I order the pro baseball and get it delivered to me here in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I am here for a while and would like to add this to my every other day calisthenics. Thank you for the great content and sharing great information I am 68 and still going strong and want to continue as I get older.

Hi Dave. First of all, that’s awesome you live in Puerto Vallarta! Such a lovely place. Been there a couple times. And unfortunately, my discount code only works on the originals line, it doesn’t work on the Pro series. As far as shipping, you can contact BaseBlocks at hello@baseblocks.fit and they’ll provide a shipping quote to ship outside of the US. I hope that helps!

Ryan quick question, what is better? L-sit pull up or regular pull up? Which one will get me better results?
@MinusTheGym2 жыл бұрын
They both get you good results but in different ways. Standard pull ups will put more emphasis on the lats, while L-sit version shifts focus away from lats to the upper back and shoulders more because your torso is upright. But keep in mind the L-sit pull up has a lot more core engagement, which is a plus. They both have their advantages.

I bought the pro because I live in an apartment, so will be needing to stow it away often and space is a premium. Used your link and the 10% off (thank you) worked for it, so I suppose Baseblock has changed their policy for now at least.

Looks like the bevel of the bars differs. Do you notice a difference between the two?
@MinusTheGym2 жыл бұрын
It’s slightly different but negligible. One thing I forgot to mention in that video though is the high setting on the pro is about 1-2” higher than the original. I compared the low settings on camera but forgot to compare the high settings. I still can’t believe I did that lol

Is doing pullups with legs forward difficult and can I get full back/arm extension on the hanging part? I'm 5'11"
@gison8405 Жыл бұрын
I imagine that it is as difficult as it is hanging from a pull up bar, but it doesn't appear to be anymore so difficult-my concern was whether or not my elbows would clear the side posts
@SyphlexGFX2 жыл бұрын
Would I struggle to get full ROM doing L-sit pullups if i'm 6"2?
@MinusTheGym2 жыл бұрын
Possibly. It actually depends more on your arm length. The bar is 52” on its high setting in case you want to check how long your reach is.
@lf859910 ай бұрын
Do you have the quick rings yet and can you tell me if they attach directly to the bar to do dips?
@MinusTheGym10 ай бұрын
The BaseBlocks rings do attach directly to a bar, but not for dips, only for exercises done beneath the rings (like rows, neutral grip chin-ups, etc). I made a review of those rings a while ago if you want to check it out: BaseBlocks Rings Review: NEW Carabiner-style Gymnastics Rings kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2LGmmqsrNOgmqc

There is a slight difference in the height on the high setting. I didn’t even notice until after I published this video. It’s about a 1-2 inch difference. But other than that, not much difference at all 🤷♂️
