Hi Mr Linnell I have just started in leather work and find your videos very instructional and help full I have just tooled some leather coasters which look good only thing is when you put your cup on them the cup leaves a mark is there any finish you can recommend to stop this by the way I live in Yorkshire England Thankyou in advance

Hello Mick, Vegetable tanned tooling leather will absorb liquids unless it has a coating on it that is water proof. Unfortunately, these finishes often leave the leather looking like it has a plastic coating. You can make it water resistant with oils or waxes. These will often darken the leather and only helps it resist the moisture.
