Awesome thank you. Just got myself some steep checkered bevellers and can’t get over how awesome they are or how I managed without them. I use them in just about every project.

Good list, especially for someone looking to upgrade to a higher end tool, and Barry’s tools aren’t much more expensive than the standard $10-20 tools made in mass. As for your #10 the Crowner, I rate it a bit higher, simply because once you start using it, you would stop using it. Keep up your spread of knowledge, really good work.

Great video I have a few tools mentioned and love the results and quality! I am interested in the crowner, is a number 2 size go for floral patterns on 1.5” belts or would you go smaller? Also I was looking at Barry’s turnback stamp, do you have any insight on it or use one? Any recommendations not sure if it’s worth it.

As for the Crowner, the number 2 is definitely handy. I intend on purchasing a size 1 very soon and I anticipate I will use it slightly more, but the size 2, for my work, is still needed often. I don’t personally use a Turnback tool. Whenever I create a turnback in my work I usually just cut it in with a swivel knife, bevel it and use a lifter. I’m sure the turnback tool is handy as well, but I don’t personally use one at this point in time.

Thank you for the advice! I purchased the size 1&2 and both sizes are perfect for what I do! I do have another question if you don’t mind! I was wondering what sizes you run for Barry king basket stamp, double row border and crescent border on your belts. Again thank you for your thoughts and videos, you do beautiful work!

I've turned a couple duplicate camouflage tools into crowners. They're not perfect though, but they have been beneficial. Especially in some of the figure carving I've done.

@@kboleather that’s actually the most expensive way to buy them.. a few at a time… they ding you every time for shipping if you do it that way

Every time I make a profit off an order I keep 20-40 from that and save it towards a tool.. so far I’ve spent 800 on tools, projects I’ve made from scraps alone have helped me invest in more tools!

@@NevadaBeeMan-nq3po its not really though when you think about it. given the choice between waiting until you save up enough money to buy all the tools at once, or buy one or two as you can afford them. the better and obvious choice is to buy the tools as you can afford them one or two at a time. if you wait to save up money, you could be sitting there waiting for YEARS just to save up the money. and you would still not have any of the tools. when you buy a couple at a time, you slowly upgrade and you do not have to spend a massive chunk of money all at once. that means that you have more security financially for anything else you may need that money for in life. and you do not have to wait for getting new tools. In regards to your original comment about having to sell your house to afford these tools... thats a bit excessive. for these 10 tools you are only looking at a few hundred dollars. thats not that bad considering that the tool is going to last you the rest of your life and your childrens lives and even your grandkids lives as well.

@@orion7741 buying them 2 at a time is the most expensive way to buy them period… if there charging tax and shipping period!! Unless you live in Sheridan and can walk to there storefront every payday and pick one or two of them up Might be convenient for you but it is not cheaper by any means .. you mentioned saving for years and I did not imply that ! If you saved for a 1-4 months a guy could buy those ten tools but if you buy those ten there going to lead to ten more so pick your poison.. I don’t know if you own any berry kind tools but I started with them .. there expensive and will go up in price .. if you make your living with them you will wear them out! Nothing last forever! I don’t know if your a hobbyist or make your living with making leather goods
