How much of the tip should you tin? Does it just know or is there a standard amount of tips that should be coated? Im trying to learn and i dont want to force tin to far up the tip if its not needed.

If just resting the iron then just glob some on the end, Its no rule to it. The tip will only hold so much so no worries about forcing on too much. If getting ready to solder and you want to tin it to use, then only apply a little that you want to use for the joint your soldering and not a big glob.

I keep a pretty high air speed 80%-100% most always but not too stubborn to turn it down if I have to for something specific

@ecurepair thanks. One more question, most automotive modules electrical components use high temp solder. How do you deal with that when desoldering to remove components?

As far as solder goes Lead, Lead-free, Its all pretty much the same to me honestly. Just different temperatures is needed but the principle is still the same. The biggest problem is usually dealing with the thermal demand of being glued to aluminum cases.

that soldering iron is kind of long not good for microelectronics

Its size is not bad. Its in-between my metcals ultrafine and standard handpiece. There is not many good tips for micro tho. Maybe only the small conical . Not sure if they will ever release more or not.

@@ecurepair got myself 2 years ago a t210 with c210 tip best thing i ever used it`s like painting the small bga`s no longer stand a chance
