Fun fact: Tsukushi wasn't supposed to end up with Tsukasa. She was supposed to be with Rio but the popularity of their pairing made the mangaka change the ending

That’s one of the only reasons why I can justify Tsukasa being such a raging asshole in the beginning, because he wasn’t originally intended to be the main love interest (more like antagonist turned secondary love interest). The mangaka had her work cut out to redeem Tsukasa into a proper love interest when she decided to go with the fan pairing, and I feel she’s one of the few authors who was able to do it (read too many that took her ‘bully to lover’ trope she started and executed it horribly by never properly redeeming the bully).

I remember this, I was so invested in Teru finding out the truth. The Cindy Lauper music box still lives in my head rent free. I was a bit uncomfortable with the age gap, but mostly ignored it, because I figured it was just a story. However when it turned out that he was old enough to have committed war crimes, I think the moral dissonance broke me, and I never looked back since.

Colleen jumpscare! 43:40 i Read this after a manga where a teacher literally marries his poor student to support her and her orphaned brother but is "waiting" until she graduates. So i was prepped to accept agegaps in shoujos like putting up with shounen fanservice. But somehow daisy brainwashed me into finding it morally superior than the others. Maybe it was just teru being so above shit from other characters that the common shoujo heroine would tank and kurosaki being a stunted adult sometimes more childish than her. It was very "mature for her age" propaganda. Men are "boys" until they've had their fill preying on female youth.

Its funny you mentioned how can a you call yourself shoujo enthusiastic when youve never had 2d character crush 😂 cause that was definitely me. I dont remember ever self inserting into any shoujo otome etc but I do love wholesome love stories regardless ❤
