That’s true regarding the Zman grubs! They melted for some reason!

but in saying that, they have a high durability for sure.

checked out the lake today. advice please on any time of year good for targeting these perch? And casted out soft bait, for some reason, the softbait get ripped out after a few cast is this due to too much force when casting?thanks
@BasicFishingNZ5 жыл бұрын
or maybe the jighead itself wasn't a good quality or the softbait itself. summer time is when the perch is on the prowl. the best time i found it was around sunset. i was able to land 20 perch in an hour before around that period which was cool.

Where is a good place to pick up the soft baits you're using?
@BasicFishingNZ6 жыл бұрын
i got them at rod and reel and sailors corners. hope that helps
@ilexwang7156 жыл бұрын
what is the jig weight and are the soft baits used in the video plz? any suggestion to avoid snags?
@BasicFishingNZ6 жыл бұрын
the jighead weight were 1/8 ounce and the softbaits i was using were zman grubs 2.5 inch and 3 inch powerbait perch pattern. unfortunately even i end up getting snagged. my main suggestion is to avoid the jighead from making contact on the bottom and work above the bottom instead of letting it bounce up and down on the bottom

Do you need to get permit to fish this lake?
@BasicFishingNZ2 жыл бұрын
u need a permit to target sports fish like the perch, rudd, tench and trout. for fish like carp and eel u don't need a permit but you need to convince the ranger that you are only targeting those species and not the sport fish

I always wondered because if it was here in the states those perch wouldn't have a chance!!!!
@BasicFishingNZ6 жыл бұрын
haha lol do they have size limits for perch in the states? here in nz, they don't have any regulations on size or amounts
@mackredsnapper6 жыл бұрын
Basic_Fishing it depends on the state. Like here in Michigan when I was a kid the limit was I believe 100 perch but for around the last 20 years it's been reduced to 50. There has never been a size limit so people just judge for themselves what is the correct size to keep. I know in some bodies of water it's nothing like it used to be if the perch is what an angler is looking for.
