Folks, talking about Jordan didn't have a 3pt shot. It was a different genre of basketball where the 3pt shot was not emphasized as it was coached as a lower % shot attempt. So he scored atv the rim, free throw line, and midrange areas. The 3pt shot was used when the rhythm presented but only if the other areas were warmed up. Now, 3pt shots are attempted to open the game.
