after 500 years my fingers have stopped hurting from learning the bass guitar, and so I was able to try and compose another bassline to go with this one !!
however after messing around to get the notes down they hurt again ;-; ;-;
this cycle will never end..

It's curious to hear that actually, considering how apparent your improvement has been in my eyes. It's not just some vague compliment either! I specifically think your arrangement of the songs has become a lot more fluid and clean, the mixing has gotten SO much better, your "noise" control is super interesting but has recently fit into your songs a lot more. Your control of when to use bass and when to make the song light and airy aide the arrangement a lot, as well as your control of momentum, the speed of the song disregarding tempo... I'm glazing, sorry 😒 Just, in general your songs feel a lot more fleshed out and we'll balanced, compared to your earlier songs. This makes them very nice to listen to passively as well!

I love this 3/4 thing music people talk about. It makes a song sounds more bouncy, more elegant or both! I'm glad you at least tried to write something with the bass, and i did NOT expect meowsynth appearing out of nowhere D: This is a nice song, the bass sounds cool and the rhythm thing makes the song sounding really nice. Best part in my opinion is 1:13, idk, it's so different that it sounds good. *Edit:* wait a second, i just realized 1:13 has the same motif than the rest of the song except that it's played in a toy piano. It somehow sounded VERY different to me with the toy soundfont, probably because the only other thing there is the bass, making sound less intense. Still my fav part!

i love this! i think a good bassline (and cat) can go with so many things but waltzes are also such reliable pieces imo, i figure drums are kinda strange for a waltz cause it's not thought of as like an intense style but i think the drums were good here without being overkill! i can imagine drum in asymmetrical meter being weird too since playing that all in time would be super hard but at the same time it's probably an option to divide large measures into something easier to track

joe dart is a great funk bassist who does a lot of neat solos. what's also interesting is that every time he does a song live, the solos are different, so I'm guessing a lot of it is improv. he's great at slapping and his tone is always one to remember. specifically listen to vulfpeck - sky mall, his work there reminds me of this song
