No one has any idea of the barriers that were broken down between the multi cultural society of the UK at this time. At least for a small time. It was a united front and unity through music and dance. _Peace out to all 90's crew_

@robtyman42812 жыл бұрын
Looking at this period now, it was so radical, progressive, and forward thinking. My god the early 90's was literally 'ground breaking' - and such a huge relief after the 1980's. The early 90's wasn't just a good period for music in the UK, it was a good time for the UK - as strange as this may seem when you consider the recession of 1991 and the Poll Tax riots of the previous year. But compared with now, the early 90's was a period when the UK was dynamic, experimental (in a good way), and not afraid to say so. When you compare that period with the chaotic (in a bad way), the lack of imagination in today's pop, and dance music, and the 'sclerotic' nature of the country in general now; I would give anything to just go back to the early 90's even for a single day! Happy times, a simpler life without the stresses of social media. The country was more confident and more sure of itself back then. This was reflected in society, and none more so than in the music created then.

Great clip. We all knew the acts on this show were miming, but come on BBC, you could at least give the singers actual radio mics as props. That was clearly a cheap wired mic, with an XLR plug and six inches of cable hanging out the back of it just for show!
