Man, my brother, I'm a truck driver who has been struggling on bass for years. This was an excellent lecture. Tonight after kissing the wife and hugging the dogs, I'm pulling my bass out daily.

I know spending more time practicing with a metronome is what I will track for the next 30 days! It is always good to learn from phenomenal bass players who also have the gift to teach. Happy Belated Birthday, J. Morgan.

Jermaine: I love your channel and totally appreciate you as well. I am 57 years old and started playing bass in 1979. I have been in many different bands and small groups: acoustic folk, blues, classic rock, pop, jazz, and dance. I started playing with church worship contemporary Christian groups since 1990, I really love it. Everything you said is spot on and I like your candidate approach to playing and improving. I really want to get better with music theory...I know the basics of the major and minor scales, chromatic approaches, and passing tones. I do know how to read sheet music (bass clef) and chord charts, but I really want to get deeper into the modes and pentatonic stuff. Have a Blessed day!!

This was amazing Jermaine I actually learned some errors in my playing that motivates me to go and unlearn some things that I have been practicing. Great to see always.

I think my issue is I’m focusing on practicing the songs I have for my church and working on my ear. But I’m not focusing on the fundamentals such as scales/technique
