It's actually crazy how time away from the instrument and practice, that things you practice day in, day out just solidifies in your head. I had no confidence in me hearing intervals but as Jermaine started doing it, I could hear them!!!!! Omg! Thanks for this bro. Finding the key in a church service is my achilles heel!! (For now)

Aye that last tip is top tier. A lot of people don't think about it like that. I've only been playing 2 months and the times i've said "I can't" I wasn't able to, but when I was determined and attempted, I was able to pick things up.

Jermaine - This is perfect advice for determining the key! Listen first is ALWAYS excellent advice and helps us avoid making false assumptions regarding the key of the song, and helps bassists avoid many mistakes that they are very likely to make if they just start playing without listening to the song.

What you said! 🤜🏽🤛🏽 Practicing sounding out the intervals and listening to the entire song will mature the ear for sure for finding keys faster.

Another comment on this video: sing your intervals and do it frequently! This will help you immensely in quickly locating the key.

More easy than that...if you start on C major and just play the scale with all notes in-between it's gotta be one of them because all the notes in all scales are captained there!

Hi Jermaine, my name is Steve. I am a beginner with no experience to playing the bass. I’m going to purchase the Yamaha TRBX606FM. What advice can would you give?

@@JermaineMorganBass Thank you for your reply. I did that at the music store. My first instrument is the drums. Now I’m learning how to play the piano and last week at church I decided that I want to learn how to play the bass as well.
