The song itself is from Starmania a Canadian-French cyberpunk rock opera written in 1976. 👼🏻Gregory Lemarchal was a young French singer who was the inspiration for DIMASH to sing 🆘 “SOS d'un terrien en detresse" Diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at a young age, Gregory defined all odds and won the fourth series of the singing contest Star Academy. He became an overnight sensation in France and went on to have a successful career. He was known for "La voix d'un ange"- the voice of an angel. Gregory succumbed to his illness at the age of 23. 💔 This video is a tribute to his memory. 🥺😢😭💔❤️🩹❤️ So that there in no confusion as too “WHY DIMASH” sings this song. It is the “Tribute to Gregory” and his message. The meaning of the lyrics in Gregory life are what holds Dimash’s heart✨🤍✨ PLEASE take a 👀 THE STORY BEHIND 🆘 👼🏻”Angel Gregory" 🇫🇷 French with subtitles kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqHOg5l_hc56iJY IT’S WHERE DIMASH GETS HIS ✨“ANGEL WINGS”✨ ❤️2U&2ALLU❤️🦌🦌💫🌎🇺🇸

One less known things about Dimash is that his vocal folds are abnormal larger than a typical person, I believe this is one aspect of how he does what people find impossible, the rest is genetics, massive training from a very young age along with his genuine love for music. His sung range G0-D8
@bass2yang Жыл бұрын
This is interesting - it would explain the fact that he can maintain such a sound up high as well as down low (in addition to his training as well) - in my studies, airflow and proper vocal fold closure is the bulk of the battle and it sounds like he has it in spades. Thanks for your input!

I have to agree 100%. This is his first time hearing Dimash and he immediately picks up everything and realizes the effort and masterpiece that is created. Sometimes I don't always go to the very end anymore on first reactioners but I'm glad I did on this guy. He kept repeating and wanting to hear exactly what was happening on those last moments we all do. Then you hear his great reasoning and education on how the performance is better than anybody else I've seen. There are many many many many good first reactioners to Dimash. Lucky me, He has his second one posted already. I'm going to have to hear some of his other stuff too now. Lol

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than Ten(10) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato,whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️ Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. A great and detailed analysis of all the nuances and techniques Dimash displays here. Compelling, amazing, skillful, and micro- intentional are just some accurate descriptions, and all 'built', as you observe, on a solid bel canto classical base. But Dimash has also studied EVERY Genre, including all aspects of contemporary, jazz, pop, and also musical theatre. He explores traditional music / vocal forms from across the world, and has recently completed post-graduate studies in composition. He is also, and unsurprisingly, a multi-instrumentalist, and sings in over 15 languages, whilst being conversational in 4-5. He takes care of his instrument very well, also, and maintains physical fitness, including swimming a lot, in order to maintain and expand his lung capacity. In this way he reminds me, very much, of a Gold Standard Olympic Athlete! You are right in that he is someone who is likely his own worst critic, and works on continual improvement. He has stated that he finds it difficult to watch vocal coaches reactons to his work, as he is sure "they will pick up on all my mistakes" !!! He makes very few! Dimash 'chose' his genetics very well. Both parents are well known singers in his native Kazakhstan, and he commenced his musical training from the age of 5. So he already has 20+ years of daily crafting of his artistry to access. My firm belief is that Dimash started tuning his ear to perfect pitch in the womb, and there are numerous neuro-developmental studies that support this. We now know that infants exposed to classical and other complex musical forms - in utero - develop speech and balance and fine motor control much earlier than others. There is an early video which shows Dimash singing with his parents, and the aspect that grabs my attention the most is his mothers clear and piercingly bright soprano voice, as well as their vibrato's perfectly matching, which I guess is unsurprising! Enjoy your further exploration of this amazing artist. Regards, L

Whatever he sings though is beautiful. Take care

I was just reading on his musicianship - it is definitely coming across as an arrangement that is reflective of his intentions and vocal prowess. Thanks for the insight! @@bass2yang thanks for the reply. He has composed some music. BTW he has a master degree in composition. Unforgettable Day, in Kazakh, when he was 17/18. If you decide to react to it there are many videos but for you to be amazed by his range I’d recommend the Gakku one where he sings his highest note. He composed also War & Peace, in Mandarin, the digital show one is very good and most recent The Story Of One Sky, in English, this one is definitely a Masterpiece and his voice, oh his voice in this one is amazing. The MV is brilliant. He wrote the screenplay as well as co-direct it but the live version from his last est concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan is fantastic. I was there and I still feel goosebumps thinking about his performance. He has full input in the lyrics also but he doesn’t write them. Hope you react to more Dimash. Take care

Also, the other way around, I will highly recommend that you listen to "OLIMPICO" There you can hear the strength in his lower voice among others interesting things to comment. It's a Legendary performance...... 2017 SOS on the Singer competition in China is amazing too - 650M hits on China Social Media when it was aired 2 weeks later..... Dimash is the best Vocalist on Earth - bar None.... Live he can not be touched by Anyone & I spent 30 yrs in the industry & seen every act live you can imagine & he is just Different...... Live his voice moves thru you..... F sharp 5 Mix feels like shock waves moving thru your cell walls...... Mind you Dimash is a Big man - 6'3'' - a jaw like an anvil that creates insane resonance & large hands & feet..... just crazy natural ability but insane work ethic to hit these notes perfectly Every time......

I really appreciated this analysis of Dimash’s voice(s). I also, if you enjoy bass singers recommend your listening to Diana Ankudinova. She’s a dramatic contralto with polyphonic and subharmonic abilities. “Can’t Help Falling in Love” on the Russian competition show “The ShowMaskGoon”. This was her first adult competition performance at age 18. Also I absolutely recommend and would love an analysis for “The Story of One Sky” by Dimash. The live fancam (from Vietnam fan club) or the incredible music video, that imo, being 67, have never seen or heard anything more powerful. Oscar and Emmy award nomination worthy. Both would be amazing. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and knowledge with us all. Much love and appreciation from California. ❤️🍀🌈😇🙏🏻❣️

Ah, my favorite version of Dimash's SOS. Thank you Bass2Yang for lengthy analysis. Dimash imho is super talented & versatile. He is creating a whole new level of music: the range, the timbre, the cross-over in musical genres & styles, the stage presence, the dedication to his craftmanship. He's got it all and is a handsome and kind fellow on top of it. Thank you so much Bass2Yang for your lengthy analysis and may I add that you have a beautiful resonant voice!! 😊 From the Netherlands

@@bass2yang Your welcome, I forgot to tell you I've subscribed and also to ask you kindly to add 'Olimpico' (Italian opera/bel canto song with unique twist) and 'Love is like a dream' (kind of Russian troubadour love song) to your reaction list. Both of sheer beauty. Hope you will do analysis of these songs as well. Thank you!

Thanks for an insightful and entertaining reaction! 31:25 Subscribed. Try the new wave performance of “Stranger” to hear more of Dimash’s low and high ranges. There are other versions of Stranger but in the New Wave version Dimash is accompanied on piano by his longtime collaborator and mentor Igor Krutoy, who is also the composer.

I have to say I LOVE your speaking voice. So rich. Now - I love that you have educated us to the creative vocal range and abilities of our beloved Dimash. I’ve been on the planet for my 3 score and 10 and this young man with his music, his humanity and humility is wonderful. Thank you for this terrific review. I hope you will cover more of his performances. 🤗🤗🤗 Just a wee point - Dimash is totally addictive. 🤗

I adore his band and backing vocalists. They've been with him for years and are all really talented musicians. I'm sure the selection process is a pretty tough one, and once you've earned your spot, you make sure you keep it.

From the mic distance that he uses in various songs, his high rocker mix seems to be his loudest vocal technique, and his high opera notes are strong too. Even though he originally trained as an opera tenor, his reinforced countertenor seems stronger than his tenor range. He also seems to be able to sing his high rocker mix notes very efficiently given they often figure in very long phrases.

Thank you for your evaluation of Dimash’s voice - the comments on vibrato were particularly interesting ..
@bass2yang Жыл бұрын
You are welcome! Yes, vibrato should always feel natural to the singer; you don't want them to have to work against the natural flow of their voice, even though it is possible to shape the intensity and rhythm of it. The conductor, within reason to the music, should always consider the needs of the soloist and invite them to be free in their approach and expression of the piece while delivering the expectations of the conductor. Always a pleasure to work and hear amazing singers. 🔥
@heathercraig526 Жыл бұрын
@@bass2yang what I love about his vibrato is how exactly he aligns it with any other singer he may be performing with...when they stop he keeps going and there is no break of sound or tremor..if you know what i mean...blows me away every rime.

A most highly musically educated, up to presently over half way to his PhD, and still carrying on his education in other areas to improve his already unbelievable levels of ability. He is also very, very experienced, having been performing since the age of 5, getting his first award he won a national piano contest aged 6 and became a professional artist aged 16 in 2010. He has performed for presidents of many countries, and travelled the world with solo concerts in the biggest theatres and huge stadiums. He eats and sleeps music, he plays many instruments writes and composes. He also comes up with video ideas, writes storyboards, script and works closely with his directors. Soon he will go to the New York Film School in LA, very prestigious, to qualify as a Director. Dimash believes strongly that to do any job you need a good education and qualification. He is a very modest young man who takes his chosen path in life very seriously and is a consummate professional in all he does. He is very aware that he needs to be a good role model, this is important to him so he always does his best to live decently. Thank you so much for a very interesting analysis, I look forward to your further evaluations to our wonderful Dimash as I know you are about to be inundated. Loved it 💘

Thank you for finally checking out Dimash, Thou! I always enjoy your thorough analyses, and I look forward to more! The Bass Gang and Dimash are my musical obsessions. I’m surprised it took this long to get around to him (although I understand he doesn’t exactly fit the bass bill), as he is essentially a music teacher’s dream. He never stops surprising us with the extent of his abilities. I believe you and he are of very like minds. :)
