Lake i fish is always muddy! Have found slower presentations work abit better. Have had great luck with the shakey head, very slow. Let it soak just a bit. Work like a dropshot. Great info! Love your approach to explaining how things work. Thank you!

Fished Pickwick Saturday.. about 1 ft half of visibility.. caught several no bigs tho.. but went into a huge pocket that was Brown.. even though it was warmer I couldn't get them to bite in there. Thinking they wasn't there yet aka fresh

Hi Tyler, Question. My dad and I were fishing an oxbow lake in N. Louisiana in March, water temp around 62, water visibility typically 3-4 ft, but this trip they had just had downpours and there were a couple of drainage pipes gushing into the lake with very muddy water. The muddy water would hug the bank for about 100 yards in whatever direction the wind was blowing day to day. We stayed away from the muddy water on the first day and did not catch many fish, which was odd because typically we catch fish in the clearer water. We happened to fish the muddy water leading up to the actual culverts where the muddy water was flowing in and began catching fish along the bank, and it seemed like the closer we got to the culvert where the water was the muddiest, the more fish we caught. It was the high sediment muddy water like you mentioned. And the bass caught in the muddy water averaged 2-4 lbs. I’ve never seen anything like it. Is there any reason for this? BTW keep doing what you do. Your content it top of my list.

Changes in water conditions like a mud line, grass line or even a change in current is a spot for ambushes and somewhere where bass will sit
@todddupont38462 жыл бұрын
@@mrs.vasquezz They weren't on the mud line, they were back into the muddy water. No current changes, no grass. That's what made it so odd.

I absolutely love fishing muddy water oh, and my buddy thinks I'm crazy sometimes. Spinnerbaits, swim jigs, chatterbaits, Square bills and of course Whopper ploppers. These lures will get you bitten

Got my butt kicked by some muddy water in VA this weekend after fishing strictly New England clear water for the last three years. I tried the “cole slaw” big blade chatterbait with a white trailer at all speeds and mixed retrieves and just couldn’t find em from the bank.

I am so turned off by muddy water and I shouldn't be (I guess) but I feel like if I can't see the bait in 1 inch visibility the fish can't either. If you go finesse with a worm, I feel like you would have to drag it across their head for them to know it's even there. I know they feel vibrations with their lateral line but with a worm it seems like it doesn't put off much for the fish to pick up on and you're wasting your time. So, if it's muddy I'm getting loud and cranking, rattle traps, spinner baits and hoping for the best. Forward facing sonar is my next thing I want to get into and maybe that will change my muddy water confidence....at least with that I can see they are actually there and I'm not just chunking and hoping there is fish in front of me.

They can sense things in the water much better than we give them credit for. You can catch bass with zero visibility with neds and shakeyheads around cover
@razorbak67832 жыл бұрын
@@GaryAnderson87 Yes sir you're right... it's hard to bring my self to realizing that..... they have to eat no matter what...muddy or clear they have to eat. It's a mind thing I have to get past. To me I relate muddy to getting loud with a rattle traps and cranks with knockers. Tight lines brother!!!!
@GaryAnderson872 жыл бұрын
@@razorbak6783 Yep it's all a mental game. Shad, worms and crawfish don't produce much vibration in the water, yet look at how fat bass are in the spring. Tight lines to you too.
