The original version of this song was written by Tina Malia (called "Undercover") ...As her and i worked over the summer on some collaborations i accidentally realized her vocals for Undercover fit flawlessly over a pre-existing track, and everything kind of fell into place. She resang the vocals and i merged them with my song, and we renamed it "underwater"...for me it is about that internal feeling of desperation; a quest for a sense of purpose, trying to make sense of the mysteries of life.

***** really? because I tune into BPM, Chill, or Electronic Area on XM it is always the same bubbble-gum, high pitched singing of some new age hippie hoe that thinks she is "woke" with blaring samples and edm hooks that sound like two songs being played over each other. Yea Bassnectar is still doing his thing, but he is not in the limelight on the same level that he used to be. But seriously, is it just me who thinks the lyrics to 90% of popular edm songs are stale BS? They just use keywords and phrases that people who are into this scene dig. It is the exact same thing as Luke Bryant fucking constantly going on about mudd boggin, and family values, and bonfires, etc etc etc he is just using stereotypical BS that doesn't really have any meaning, other than the meaning of appealing to as many fucking people as possible to rake in cash, which isnt art.
