Easiest way to actually label a product without remaking the label is to invest in a pricing gun. You can add up to 2 lines of print on pricing labels (sometimes using letters instead of numbers). Put that sticker on the bottom of the product. Problem solved. The numbers on the stickers can match the batch numbers on your sheets. Put the sheets in a binder and keep for safety purposes.

Brilliant idea, thank you. I found one that can take up to 8 numbers and you just buy the tape that has the word “batch no” already printed on it. So cheap, the whole solution for $25

Numbers is the Mac version of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets - and the reason it is autocorrecting you to just 0 when you do 00 is the formatting of the cell. For at the cell to text only and it shouldn’t continue to do that. It thinks you’re just writing a number and it simplifies it down for you. Hope this helps! LibreCalc & LibreOffice are non-Microsoft operating programs. e.g., my computer does not have a Microsoft operating system therefore I'm not able to use a MS program like excel. I do use LibreCalc. Open system just means that these documents can also be read in other programs like excel, etc. BTW, just add a separate small batch label to the bottom or back of your container.

Can you please suggest broad spectrum preservative for formulation containing non ionic surfactants (Montanov 68 and glycerol monosterate)? Liquid germall isn’t available in India. Question for storing different batches... i like to keep about 10 ish jars of one item in stock, so lets say i've dropped down to two and need to make another batch, there is then 2 different batches in that stack... do you have a trick to know which is which? ... i could just stick stickers on them ? i don't know lol Thank you for your videos and your time!!!

Good information. But when you make a new batch and you don't label them with the new batch number, how are you differentiating between batches. I see all your products are all together on the shelf with nothing to separate new batches from old. Sometimes you may have 5 left of old batch and you need to make more. Wouldn't be hard to make a small label . Thank you for the info!

I only put one batch on the shelf at a time, then once I make a new batch I will put that batch out. I have more storage for my products than just that shelf.

I always put the batch number on all my labels at the bottom. It takes me 60 seconds to go in there and do that. However, I don't make a bunch of labels ahead of time because I use Online labels. I only print what I need for a batch. Mine look like this #0051622. The two zeros are mine then the date I made it. It's simple and works well. It also is easy for my customers if they have a question about a product. I can look quickly and know what they bought and answer any concerns. I think keeping these batch sheets is important. Not just for your customers, but yourself. I saw an ingredient recall for something I'd purchased and was able to clarify I hadn't used the ingredient that was recalled, because mine was a different batch number than what the company recalled! I was happy!😊
