@@bernabefernandeztouceda7315 definitley not. under the sign is what hooked a lot of us and has a great catalogue but the replay value of this is infinitely better than s/t and under the sign. also this sounds way more like darkthrone. fenriz even claims this is the "quintessential black metal album", and i think even euronymous talked about the influence of this album in an interview in 1992... I know everyones taste is different but the statement that "The Return..." is more inspirational then "Under the Sign..." is absolutely beyond me. The whole atmosphere on "Under the Sign..." is so dark and almost cineastic while "The Return..." is basically raw black metal with punk and Motörhead influences. The lyrics on the first two albums are more tongue in cheek teenager satanism while "Under The Sign..." has all these medievil athmosphere and almost poetic lyrics. Some songs on Under The Sign have a structure and dramaturgy that resemble the lyrics - for instance "Enter The Eternal Fire" its almost like a movie inside the listeners head. And the synth lines and intros on "Under The Sign..." create this eighties horror movie athmosphere that makes it unlike any other BM album.
@themadmattster9647 Жыл бұрын
@@hanshandkante5055 first one sounded like motorhead and venom but i'd listen again, lots of evil riffs and a dark vibe on The Return. I think the production is more murky and that's why it sounds more evil in some wayss. the drums leave a lot to be desired with the obvious mistakes but overall I think it's more evil than Under the Sign which I love as well

Bathory wrote itself tragedy play in this one.The whole album is besieged by somber lifeless fields where the mistery of night dwelling. So,it is an album made by Bathory within of its trajetory and time. If there was the possibility to remake that all the obscurity inside could be lost.

@@belzebub2352 Yep I don't know the name, lost the inlay years ago but it has three songs. The return of the Darkness and Evil, Born for Burning and Total Destruction. It's from '83 or '84
