Honestly, I was hoping that wouldn’t be the case. Origins was all about him moving past that stage in his life, and showing him turn into the man we saw in Asylum and City. While this doesn’t really go against that arc, it does make it feel a bit less impactive, especially since Arkham origins blackgate showed us a more calmed and reserved version of early year Bruce. It’s like he went from mellowing out to suddenly reversing back into rage fueled vengeance machine. It’s probably because of something that’ll happen in the story, but either way I hope they don’t rehash the same arc from before.

Having a tiger guard show up this early in the timeline is already a red flag, plus the fact that the new suit looks more like the Knight era costume compared to Origins transitioning into asylum or city territory. I know these games have never been the bests at continuity, especially with suicide squad, but this feels a bit off. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see

This has the energy of releasing a new Arkham game as a Google Stadia exclusive. Considering SSKTJL is a cash cow by design, i bet if the Stadia still had a pulse Arkham Shadows would be on there. Sure, the budget for this game on consoles/pc would be higher but they have a perfect combat, predator, and exploration system. Ironically, they should have "pulled an Arkham Origins" after Knight again bc at least Knight is the most polished game in the series on a gameplay level

It’s actually not what you think at all. The studio reached out to them way back in 2020 and approach them with the idea of doing a game set in the ark converse and they approved it and it’s just now getting released. I know it’s a bit of a bummer but nonetheless reception of this could determine if we get another main installation

To be fair, from this trailer alone it looks like a proper Arkham game translated into VR and a lot of fun, (unlike that first attempt, it didn't even make sense, Nightwing was killed off despite it taking place before Knight), too bad I'll likely never play it though being more a fan of controller-based games, or maybe someday I'll get my hands on a VR headset because there are VR games I'm interested in, Blade And Sorcery, and that Darth Vader game, but right now, VR just isn't for me, but that could change.

I do enjoy VR sometimes but my opinion on this is quite unknown, but then again, it's great to hear Roger Craig Smith's voice as Batman again since I haven't heard his voice as Batman in awhile since both Batman Unlimited and Batman Ninja :) Besides, sure I do miss hearing Kevin Conroy's Batman voice and all, but after what happened with that incident of that Rocksteady game which came out many months ago? besides being both Bale'd out in general and Keaton'ed out for a long while, I'm kind of Conroy'ed out for awhile since I felt like it was time for me to take a break from BTAS for awhile and focus on my other childhood Batman animated shows like The Batman 2004 and The Brave and The Bold lol.

It looks surprisingly nice for a VR-game. Ofcourse I'm still sad about it not being AAA-game for consoles, but I can't deny Arkham Shadow looks pretty good: many significant characters from Batman universe, a bunch of references to comics, dark atmosphere, new main villain (hope Joker won't have anything with this). And what's really important for me: this game is almost direct sequel for Arkham Origins, which I was waiting for since news about new Arkham game after Arkham Knight. But then we got Gotham Knights, then ..ugh... we got Suicide Squad and now, finally, we got this. Yes, it's for VR, and it won't be enough to compensate for previous arguable games from WB... But at least it's something and it doesn't look bad now

What a disappointment. They got the voice actor from Batman: Arkham Origins (loved him as Ezio as well), which is great... but this format sucks. This could have been a full game. A full, regular Arkham game. People would have eaten it up! Especially if WB didn't hire SBI to muck up the writing for ESG points. Instead, we get a janky VR game for a platform almost no one uses. BLEH. What an absolute waste.
