Grant Morrison's Batman run not only got me back into Batman, but back into comics in general. i cannot say enough good things about it. i've read Grant's complete Batman run dozens and dozens of times, and will read it countless times more! great review btw!

Myconius Maximus I couldn’t agree more. I am now scripting my 10th anniversary Final Crisis Omnibus Video portion where I try to explain it as simple as possible but it’s extremely hard to summarize. The reason is because there is so much depth and complexity to his work where Morrison pulls the reader back in countless times... Truly can’t wait to see how Green Lantern plays out.

i just subscribed! i cannot wait to see your review on the Final Crisis omnibus! i've read FC a few times, but i'm sure there's some details i've missed. that's the beauty of Grant's writing. it's very rich and multi-layered. you pick up on so many things that were overlooked in previous reads, but there's still enough to thoroughly enjoy the story. i cannot say exactly how many times i've read Grant's Batman. i have the singles, the HCs, the TPBs and now this Omni and i can never get enough!! YES! i'm very excited to add Grant's Green Lantern to my pull-list!

This part of the run is frustrating much of the time, but by the time you finish B&R and B:I, it all comes together into something amazing. Readers just need the patience to deal with some of the more obtuse things upfront.

The Deluxe Edition yes, I got them all for good prices!!! One question, I’ve seen ppl say if you haven’t read any Morrison, you should read the Black Casebook before this run. I’ve noticed it’s OOP and really expensive second hand. Any other recommendations to read before?!

This is a nice hard back but I have many of these single issues from my hunts at Half Price Books! There are some trades and hard backs that I plan to buy of certain stories but I usually don’t buy ominibus books! They do save space and you can binge read with them! Great video! Great review! Real dissapointing though that the Omnibus doesn’t collect the entire Resurrection of Ra’s al Ghul stories and just Morrison’s parts, also would recomend reading Batman the Black casebook before this which is a small collection of stories from the 50s and 60s that Morrison reaserched to set up his run.

FYI the first omnibus also included summaries of Resurrection of R’as Ghul and Final Crisis the Resurrection one has new artwork by Chris Burnham (Batman Inc.) but the Final Crisis just recycles artwork from the original event

Great review. Mine will be here tomorrow. Glad I have the Resurrection of Ras in paperback. THIS is my main problem when it comes to DC's "Named" omnibus....When they leave out the other chapters of a big crossover (ESPECIALLY when it's only a few more issues). They REALLY need to start putting those other stories in these as well (Marvel does it as well but not as much as DC) This is one of the reasons when everyone says they want a John Byrne Superman Omni I'm like HELL NO we want a POST CRISIS SUPERMAN Man of Steel omni, with all the other books in it as well....I'd HATE to get a Byrne Supes omni, then not have any of the Wolfman stuff in it, the Ordway stuff, OR the LoSH crossover issue to "fix hahahahahahaha" the Legion post crisis since there was no Superboy post coie. Anyways, I've babbled enough..thanks for another great vid.

In this case, it still reads well but of course you won’t get the full context... I think it’s a rabbit hole when you think about this era as there is a lot of non Morrison issues sprinkled throughout but still related to Morrison’s vision. Instead of a very laser focused (possibly) three volume Morrison Omnibus , you would end up with huge $150 multi volume omnis that’s possibly all over the place.

True, it's just the smaller things honestly, like the direct continuation stories...if it just plays off of something then yeah i agree it's not necessary. I still think back on the mistake they almost made w/ the JSA omnis until fan outcry and rage (for once deserved and glad DC backtracked on it) with them at first NOT going to put the first few issues of JSA in the first omni because it was JSA by Johns and he didn't write the first few issues. Things like that are what really annoy me...it's also why they had to go back and remap the Wolfman and Perez Omnis because that 3rd volume was a mess of partial and skipped stories because Perez wasn't on them.

Totally agree with their initial Solicits for JSA... That run didn’t make sense to take chunks out. I’m not against a 2000s era Batman Omni collection .. I would be first in line to grab it but I think that would be odd for DC to release that style for current age material like what they are doing with the Golden/Silver/Bronze age Omnis

I already have the Deluxe Editions of Morrison's run, but I am considering picking up the third volume if that will contain the entire Batman Inc, as I'd love to have the second half of that, including the redrawn pages from the Absolute, in Deluxe format. Will be picking up the Final Crisis omnibus however, so that I have all three main Crisis books in deluxe size as well.

The absolutes are a bit too big and bulky for my taste, and while the quality of the packaging and paper stock can't be denied, they're a bit too pricey for me as well. Omnibuses and deluxe editions feel like the perfect fit for me, size-wise. :)

Neriek the barman and robin omnibus is from the new 52, it starts a bit before the end of Batman incorporated. It's not essential reading but s fun follow up to Morrisons

Hi! That is awesome!!! I flip flop between Premiere Pro and Final Cut . If you have a Mac and shoot in 4k, Final Cut will be much more efficient compared to Premiere. I cant comment on DaVinci Resolve but people seem to love it.

The Last Rites issues would be confusing out of context. This SHOULD include excerpts from Final Crisis where Batman is quickly called to investigate Orion's murder after crashing the helicopter, gets captured, breaks out of the mind-torture device, shoots Darkseid, and is hit by his Omega Beams.

Stop at a certain point but only if you want to experience the entire Final Crisis event. It's not critical to the Morrison Batman Run. If I remember right (please correct me) there are more critical elements missing from the Morrison Batman volumes like Battle for the Cowl (i.e Anything non Morrison during those years)

Sadly there is no Absolute for the arcs contained in this volume (Besides Last Rites which is in Absolute Final Crisis). The absolutes I featured in this video (Batman & Robin / Batman Inc) will most likely be there in vol.2 and 3 .

BatmaNZ Unfortunately you’ll be double dipping but Vols 2 and 3 will not only contain Batman & Robin. Think of the Omni as the complete Batman Morrison Saga in the correct reading order.

Something I don't really like about the Omnibuses of Dc are they mostly only do it for authors. So probably you are always going to missed some issues here and there.
