Your methods, however, though born from a well-meaning mindset, leave a lot to be desired. Batman: Perhaps. But knowing what I know, and living where I live-- Iroh: Yes, Gotham City _does_ breed that kind of negativity, doesn't it? And knowing what happened with the Regime in that alternate timeline *_nececcetates_* a contingency plan for each member of your Justice League in case they go rogue. But there is a fine line between cautious and paranoid, between preparation and, again, paranoia, that is all too easy to go down. That can breed all sorts of nasty ideations that can poison even the most saintly plans and ideas, and turn you into the thing you fight against. Batman: ...Like Ozai. Iroh: **sadly** ...Yes. My brother is indeed someone who let his ideations poison his mind. And he let that darkness fester and rot inside him. Batman: I have to face people like that on a nightly, sometimes *_daily_* basis. People who think they are owed something by the world, that they have been wronged by society... Or that life is a meaningless joke. Two-Face, The Penguin, Riddler... The Joker... Those are just *_some_* of the Rogues that I have to contend with, on top of more tragic figures like Mr. Freeze, a corrupt political system, and only God knows what else. Iroh: That is... A lot to put on one person. But you need to remember that you do not fight injustice and evil alone. You have allies, friends and fellow heroes to watch your back. Trust is a very fragile thing. But it is more durable than so many give it credit for, and it can make even the darkest of times brighter than the sun. You do not fight alone.

Batman is forgetting an essential advantage Iroh has over him: he's an incredibly lovable father figure, while Batman faces the tragedy of losing his parents daily, and has been shown on a number of occasions to still long for them. If Iroh were to become a threat, he would not need fire to defeat Batman, merely a bit of warmth.

But Batman relies on tools, and in the end that’s a crutch. Iroh needs literally no resources to do what he does. Of course, we also know that it would never come to that. Maybe I've just got Saints Row on the brain, but there are quite a few characters I'd really like to see a Batman Contingency Plan for. Chief among them: the 3rd Street Saints leader (maybe Codename; Playa) Also: Johnny Gat Maybe even some of the rival gang figures as well, such as Benjamin King from the Vice Kings in SR1, Mr Sunshine from the Sons of Samedi in SR2 or Killbane from the Luchadores in SR3. Those, I feel, are the gang leaders (or in Mr Sunshine's case, lieutenant) that have the most potential to be featured in a Batman Contingency Plan. But definitely Playa and Johnny Gat.
