the beginning of his monologue felt like Harvey, it felt like Two Face. Lamenting the random nature of life, of justice. Disillusioned by it all, devoted to the coin flip that seemingly dictates all life. then he started cackling and ruined the moment. Are you saved friend? If you died tonight will you go to heaven or hell? God Almighty, the Creator was manifest in the flesh. He came into the world to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save yours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for your redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. This is the Gospel which means the Good News. Those that reject redemption will go to hell. John 1:1-3,10 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. Isaiah 44:6 KJV Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Revelation 1:17-18 KJV And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: [18] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. Acts 4:12 KJV Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. John 5:24 KJV Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Matthew 28:19-20 KJV Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. A lot of scenes were actually cut from the film or shortened altogether. One particular scene is when Bruce is shot in the head by Dent, originally, Bruce would have suffered amnesia with Dent and Nigma running amuck in Gotham City, with Alfred trying to get Bruce's memories back and he finally does when he shows Bruce the exact Batcave that Bruce fell into as a child during his parents' funeral which would have cut to Alfred and Bruce going into the destroyed Batcave and then Bruce donning the 2nd "prototype" batsuit.

Everybody kinda seems to forget the fact that Schumacher only directed these films and didn't write them. That's why there's so much bad corny dialogue and campy bullshit. Schumacher actually expressed wanting to do something somewhat darker. Not as much as Burton, but still something serious enough for people to accept. He wanted to do a Batman Year one adaptation that would be a prequel to Burton's films, but the studio said it had to be a sequel. After Batman and Robin, Schumacher wanted to work on a film called Batman Unchained, which would've been a darker story that would've had Harley Quinn and Scarecrow trying to drive Batman insane. But the studio said no. Schumacher wasn't a perfect director, but he has done good stuff. Watch Lost Boys or Falling Down. Both are good movies cause the writers of those films were actually good at their job. These Batman movies.... no. Just shitty writers. And because of that, Schumacher basically had his reputation destroyed by WB. That's how Hollywood works: the studio tries to control the film, and when it bombs, the director/writers take the fall.

Whaaat?! They had *this* and they chose to go with "I'll get a drive thru" Batman?! I'll never understand the movie industry. Btw, is that Hugo Strange or just a generic shrink?

Actually TakeXero according to the original script, the scene "jumpcuts" to Bruce Wayne's helicopter approaching Wayne Enterprises.... as a news reader is reading a report about the breakout and at the same time talking about how Dent became Two-Face. That scene of cause is in the final film, but they edited the voice over so the scene could be shifted to after the Bank robbery. The "Drive through"(and bank) scene was originally after Wayne leaves that special capsule that led to the Batcave.

2:49 Two-Face's scar changed sides (look at his face when he leans in), then when he pulls back it's how it started.

No, it didn't. That's Tommy lee jones' normal wrinkly face lit in red.

From what I've heard batman Forever was originally going to be much darker than it ended up being.

Not that batman forever was bad, i stilled love that movie, but damn. This opening would have changed the tone and minds of those who didn't like the direction that batman went into after burton stepped aside from directing

It because WB got a big contract to sale batman toys that why they made it kid friendly.

Has anyone else noticed that the Batmobile in this movie looks like the Batmobile in Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

i always thought that opening two-face monologue started out brilliant. that's still one of my favorite lines in the movie. if only jones had tried to keep himself in the zone he had before the "doo-dah" part!
@GenGamesUniverse5 жыл бұрын
That's the whole point. When he did that part, he switched from "Harvey Dent" to "Two Face".

Why must the studios misread us? We enjoyed the darkness that we got with 1 and 2. But they wanted to harken back to the Adam West campy version. Nothing against West or the show, it worked for what it was and the time. That's not what wanted. Also (with Nolan's film) making the villain not the true villain isn't a clever twist, it pisses us off. And, you know, we couldn't understand Bane half the time... yeah, that didn't help. ...but they keep doing it!

This was edited very well. You show a faithful adaptation of Harvey Dent. Just wish the movie was that faithful.
@MykelLinden4 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I wish the movie had had the EXACT same beginning as the novelization. Instead of the guy being tied up on the fan, Dr. Burton tugs him backward and finds his throat slashed, and THEN sees the writing on the wall in blood. But also, a scene even earlier where the soon-to-be-dead guard enters Harvey's cell and the two (three?) of them play a coin toss game for the guard (who was told by Harvey he'd get a million dollars for busting him out) to get two million dollars or nothing. The coin toss is scarred side up, and Harvey slashes the guard's throat, to which Two-Face tells the guard "You gambled, and you lost...two times zero is...zero. Nothing. No money...no life."

When this was released I thought Val Kilmer nailed it.. Most importantly he was able to play Bruce Wayne. Schumacher directing it pissed me off, I wanted it to be dark not neon lighted and I hate they have this need to wait to add Robin to Batman films. I'm so glad Nolan didn't do that. I can understand why Val walked away you don't want to be Batman for 20 yrs and not having any cinematic cohesion to the story telling. This is where Nolan excelled with his three films IMO.

With all the deleted scenes that exist and cutting off some of the silly and over the top elements whenever possible while also replacing some of the goofy music here and there this could be a pretty solid Batman flick. The potential is there!

A much improved opening scene than what was released. Think it would take a minor miracle tho for Batman and robin to improve

Jim Carey didn't mean to but in the end upstaged him. Jim Carey saw him in public and wanted to say hi to his co-star a long while after the theatre screenings. Tommy Lee Jones said he had enough of his buffoonery and has been salty with Carey ever since.

You know, come to think of it, Batman Forever had the same issue with its decisions as Justice League has now. They were making an original thought and story, something true to their vision and the material. But they got worried about toys, video games, and merchandizing. They wanted to be as funny as the other guy. The movies don’t do as well because they start with a vision and then circumstances happen and people are too afraid to stray from the norm

I would love for them to release the movie with this opening sequence. It’s a lot better than the 3D credits opening that’s in the movie.

Awsome video, just one thing i am suprised by is, that when they made the movie, they didn't thought of making the elevator a decoy and let Batman enter throught the window smashed by the wrecking ball. It feels like such a Batman thing to do.
