that happened once in the comics. Batman and Joker get caught in a horrible accident while fighting. Batman loses his memory and even after Alfred fills him in Bruce doesn't care like he used to because the pain of his trauma was gone. At the same time Joker didn't have anyone to fill him in so he just became a regular mentally unstable man. Bruce and Joker even meet each other as total stranger in a park. Joker realizes he's Bruce and asks him to save the park because when he woke up with no memory The Park made him feel at peace and he liked to sit next to the pond and feed the fish. The pond recently got infested with parasite that were killing the fish and this was very literally all he had left. He brought a gun with him because Joker was thinking about just ending it all because of how terrible the world is. It was all very touching and kinda sad. Because without their trauma both would just be regular people and probably be good friends

Not the same thing but check out the justice league episode "for the man who has everything" Superman gets trapped by a alien plant that induces a dream of your ideal world, at one point it latches on to batman and he gets a version of the night his parents died where his dad successfully fights off the guy who would kill them, only for the fight to turn against his dad as his friends try to free him.

I like to think that Batman had a contingency for this sort of thing- EXCEPT for the poor quality healthcare and choices of the other heroes, IE if they took him to the bat cave alfred would just have a list of instructions on how to treat him without revealing his identity and possibly getting his memories back, but NONE of the rest of league thought of that and just immediately took him to a hospital
