The worst part is: This somewhat happened in the New 52. Batman lost his memory after fighting Joker after fighting in a cabe and a slither of Lazarus went into his cracked skull and he's perffectly happy with a girlfriend and Alfred refuses to have him join the Justice League or get his memories back. Batman with amnesia is seriously creepy, from his point of view he could see himself as a serial killer - He goes out in the night to hunt criminals - Has a secret dungeon - He stalks numerous people and keeps detailed files about their lives - Wears a mask and has numerous tools that allow him to bypass numerous security devices and protocols - Gotham PD overlooks his crimes and even provides him with crucial information about Gotham citizens - Has a symbol that brings fear into people, newspapers and city officials call him Batman - There are lots of people trying to reveal his identity - Numerous criminals end up in the hospital beaten after being attacked in their homes or random alley - Many criminal organizations have united and tried to trap him in order to stop him, but he always manages to escape

that happened once in the comics. Batman and Joker get caught in a horrible accident while fighting. Batman loses his memory and even after Alfred fills him in Bruce doesn't care like he used to because the pain of his trauma was gone. At the same time Joker didn't have anyone to fill him in so he just became a regular mentally unstable man. Bruce and Joker even meet each other as total stranger in a park. Joker realizes he's Bruce and asks him to save the park because when he woke up with no memory The Park made him feel at peace and he liked to sit next to the pond and feed the fish. The pond recently got infested with parasite that were killing the fish and this was very literally all he had left. He brought a gun with him because Joker was thinking about just ending it all because of how terrible the world is. It was all very touching and kinda sad. Because without their trauma both would just be regular people and probably be good friends

I like to think that Batman had a contingency for this sort of thing- EXCEPT for the poor quality healthcare and choices of the other heroes, IE if they took him to the bat cave alfred would just have a list of instructions on how to treat him without revealing his identity and possibly getting his memories back, but NONE of the rest of league thought of that and just immediately took him to a hospital
