Batman Returns (Snes) Mania Difficulty (Hardest Mode) Walkthrough

A Walkthrough/Let's Play of one the few good movie games Batman Returns for the Super Nintendo based on the 1992 movie directed by Tim Burton. They made this game a beat em up but a very good one still this game can be very tough to beat which you are about to see. I'll be playing it on Mania difficulty aka hardest mode of difficulty. I've always felt like this was an arcade-quality game for the time, or at least close. Aesthetically, it's also top notch. There's a lot of detail in respect to the source material. An underrated SNES title in terms of production value.

Omg I just sat Yerevan for like ten minutes impressed by the commitment to the stoic silence of the opening before the first level, even the driving gameplay was silent... I had my phone on mute lmao

Everything works perfect in this game. It captures the spirit of the movie, the gameplay is awesome, the soundtrack is beautiful. Best batman game ever made along with the arkham series. I still play this masterpiece nowadays :)

Wow the memories, this beat them up games were the best back in 90s. I don't understand why there is not many of this style of games now. Konami just owned the world at that time, really impressive.

Yea beat em ups kinda have died off but recently they been slowly making a come back the recently released Streets of Rage 4 and last year's River City Girls are some recent gems worth checking out.

I've been working on beating this on mania without losing one life. I can almost do it but the Penguin at the end of stage 4 is ALWAYS where I lose that life. So close. I'll post a video of me clobbering this game if anyone wants to see that..

Holy moley i never finished this game on maniac difficulty i hardly remember to beat it in normal mode because 1. The Bossfights with Catwoman (twice) and Penguin are very hard you have to sacrifice your HP with the cape whirl to interrupt their movements 2. That freaking Batmobile Highway Run !!! Good job i see you struggled through these points too but with more skill than me

Not really, as master piccolo would say "DODGE". is hard but you need to memorize the pattern. As for the final boss, when he's on the umbrela just try to grab him and make kim eat the floor

@@lorenzolamas26 how did he start with 9 lives? does it let you start with more on mania? and he seemed to be dying a lot more frequently than his remaining lives would suggest. i thought he was using some kind of cheat but maybe you just get a lot more points anx gain extra lives much more quickly.

Mania Mode ain't no joke.you take a lot more damage than other difficulties.i beat Mania Difficulty a few times.then Try Clearing it without using any continues.on mania you have to change your whole strategies to survive.only boss ppl will have problems the most is Catwoman.as for The Penguin when he flyes you can actually grab him.headbutt twice and slam him to ground.Gotta Start blocking or you won't survive these levels.only a VERY Skillful Player or True Dark Knight Can beat Mania Mode With No Continues.

This is what movie-based games should've been all the time. Perfect gameplay passageways through the whole movie with perfect representation of every character and narrations of every non action scene in between. Gameplay advice: should've used more guarding instead of tanking everything head on, or... well... that's how I did it.
