Why such a price difference? I see 1500 on the velit website but the smaller Alibaba unit is half the price with free shipping.
@JOHNDANIEL1
@JOHNDANIEL1 7 ай бұрын
@@Deveak The one on Aliexpress is 6400 BTU, Does not have the same controllers and uses 15% more power due to some parts differences inside. It being cheaper is not bad though, it's proven and you can add the extra 125 watts of solar and 30 ah of battery to match the Velit version. Just can't make the extra 1400 btu that the Velit has to make them output equal though. So it's a balance of limits verses cost.

@JOHNDANIEL1 I have a question. I know this is not an AC? But I am trying to build an off-grid homestead and would like to know what you recommend for the best wind turbine inverter and batteries. O and I have little electrician experience. Also, this is going around the Waco, TX area. We have lots of wind. Solar will also be added, so I need a charge controller that works both wind and solar if there is one.

PS - Ruby Lynn, Nina Gail, and Delta Dawn Approve of this video! Delta Dawn is half sis, and was taken in by Idaho Mae when she was 5 days old just as Ida was finishing delivering hers, Delta was a super runt 1/2 the size of the rest of Evas pups, her mom Eva rejected her, dragged her out over and over so we panicked and put her with Ida!! Eva though is 1/4 Coyote and 3/4 McNab Collie so she's a bit different. But without issue Ida Mae took in Delta and fed, cleaned and raised her without a hitch and even today dotes on her. McNabs are just amazing things that look like dogs on the surface but have a humanity better than most people! **Reilly is father to both sets of pups. He is a AKC trainers certified Kiera got.

I live in the deep south US - Our humidity is always an average of 60% - the moisture in the air defuses the UV light of the sun - The UV light gets scattered before it strikes a solar panel directly - At noon day on a very rare cloudless day solar panels will only generate 20% of there rated out put - thats at noon day - When its 110° F the humidity might drop to 35% and a solar paner might put out 35% of its rated power for 2 hrs - So solar is of little value down here - in eastern countrys those AC units are often used - there set up in solar and also hybrid were a generator is run an hour a day with solar panels or as a stand alone hybrid system - I had worked on generators in the offshore and mountain oilfields for decades - so i do understand power generation - Those inverter AC units are impressive - last summer we had many days that were 110° - AC window units that are rated at drawing 450 watts were drawing 600 or more watts when it was 110° out side - My thought is with those variable speed inverter compressors, there probably set up so that they will not run the compressor at full speed once it is 110° out side - therefore limiting it to 700 watts of draw during high temperatures -
@JOHNDANIEL1
@JOHNDANIEL1 7 ай бұрын
I too live in the deep south, have 70% to 85% humidity most often, but probably less clouds. My solar panels always put out over 75% so not sure if your dealing with Pine Pollen residue or angle issues. Depends on panel brand though I guess. As for the AC unit, it's freq drive controller is best described as smart controller without the nosey wi-fi or blue tooth China spyware. Using high low reporting with Thyristor based power controllers in PWM its doing a pressure check every 0.8 seconds to originate the compressor settings. So when your over 98 degrees up to 118 degrees you have modulated return line pressure and that is how it stays under 40 amps and still cools better than most anything else. Still struggles but don't ever get evap core oil foaming that makes it useless.

My family was heavily invested in the communications bussiness - we had many contracts to set up microwave relays stations and VHF repeaters on unmanned platforms in the gulf of Mexico and up the Mississippi river to Memphis - I had handle the relays in the Wyoming mountain for a time - Just about 70% of those stations were stand alone meaning the power was supplied on sight - When it was practical and there was surface space available we did install solar panels - We set up chart recorders on any power generation - so we had hard data on how much power solar panels generated - Down here no communication company had found a way to make solar work in the 50 yrs I worked - In Wyoming, Colorado & Idaho - they worked well enough for 6 months a yr - In the south west panels generated 100% of there rated power up to 5 hrs a day - there might be a spot some were in the south were they panels work - In 2022 down here there was overcast from February till July - chart recorders registered almost 0% output in that 5 month period - There was a repeater set up by the US government down here recently - they set up 5 Acers of panels - Once it was in operation for some reason last summer when we had good sun and low humidity all summer - for some reason they had to bring a generator and a tanker truck of fuel on sight to supply the gen with fuel - last I heard there on the grid - I retired from the oil & gass industry as a senor systems tech - I also handle repeaters at times also - If solar works panels save an enormous amount of fuel and generator maintenance -

John does anyone make a soft start for 12 volts AC units thought this would help reduce battery consumption. Just a thought. Great video.
@JOHNDANIEL1
@JOHNDANIEL1 7 ай бұрын
I got good info to help on that: This amazing soft start is the same basically used in a 12/24 vdc winch driver module or a Electric Bike controller. They incorporated it to run 5 systems at the same time which is hard to show the effect on video, ( blower 1, blower 2, compressor stage 1, 2, 3 ) but unlike similar looking the Velit controller is trademarked and very advanced. It's PC-PWM in function ( power correcting Pulse With Modulation) with 5 leg 60v thyristors instead of one gate 3 leg Mosfets. That is a design I know with absolute fact is from Aura Systems of California about 20 years ago, now finally used. You absolutely get what you pay for in technology with this one from Velit. That guy Will who owns Velit and up-designed them is a diddler of this stuff. When you buy from Velit you get a similar looking unit as what some others like Nash, Midea, Pioneer and Futura sell but with better output, lower power use, brushless motors, 5 stage PWM, 3 stage not 2 stage compressor, and cores with 6.1mm tubes not 5mm. I am ordering another for the home kitchen since it needs the serious dehumidifier ability and cooling. William sent me a Prototype AC, to go into a freakin proto type RV LOL! So it's release is now, this month, and has even more finals and updates than this in the video. 2023 AC unit to go in a 1973 RV! 50 years apart, Proto meets Proto 😂

Can't you teach us how to modify an window a/c into a mini-split so we can blast cold air inside the rv, up though the floor with the compressor outside? There has to be a cheaper way than buying a dual-split or an expensive 12v air conditioner. I was once considering poking the top of one of those portable a/c units up through the floor, since I saw some have variable speed inverter compressors, now. The efficiency is rated as terrible, but I haven't seen anyone set one up completely outside with only the vents on the inside. There's no way the minibus will ever get cool in the heat, but a layer of cool on the floor would be nice when you lay down to sleep.

Great video, thanks for sharing! To do this with solar and run for 17 hours overnight, I estimate a minimum of 4100 WHrs used in eco mode and cycling off sometimes. You only have 5000WHr of batteries. With the lithium batteries that I have, noticeable voltage drop begins at 30% state of charge, so I'd personally plan to for a minimum 8000 WHr battery bank for buffer (shady days, extra hot nights, etc.), PLUS however many WHrs are needed for fridge and all other appliances overnight... AND an appropriately sized solar array to recharge for the next night. I only get ~70 of rated output for 4 hours a on a clear day in summer on top my RV... so maybe a 2000Watt array would be good, including a small buffer. Does this seem more realistic? Or is 4100WHrs used for 17hrs overnight way off? Thank you!!

@JOHNDANIEL1

If you mount it into your RV then likely 10+ years no different than a roof model would last on average. The high density foam is not like a ice cooler, it's massively stronger and not fragile at all.

They are all a product of FUTURA and both now use all the same components and parts. Velit was able to get their model upgraded to scroll compressors and frequency drive controllers and were a year ahead of the models now on Aliexpress until April of 2024. ( s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_Dem0dlZ ) So all models now are same, We got one for a sprinter van install just weeks ago and it's identical, just $350 less. Buying Velit is more expensive since they have a popular brand name it is sold under, other items they rebrand such as the Tosot Vava Roof Air, A most modern Inverter dual system roof air ever!! Unreal how they got those to use 25% less power LOL! ( We have one, will do a video on it. But same thing, $200 cheaper here shrsl.com/4m0et and cheaper also at amzn.to/4cJ3bW5 ) Velit has a well promoted USA presence and pricing is higher to cover all that. But the product is same.

Just cooling. It does have the corresponding control on the unit and you can if your handy add heat, I may do that. It would require the relay added, and some parts. I would use a plate style PTC Heating Element 12V or 24V s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DEvnDGV the 12V 110degree c ( 230 Fahrenheit ) mounted on a heat sink and suspended in it. I use those to make 12 volt Frying, cooking and baking pans/ovens. I use 2 of the 12V in 200c ( 390f ) on a large mail box to make a 12 volt bread oven, works awesome.

Yeah. I really like to find things that like me, lower income folks can also get by with. The similar models from Coleman, Recpro, Wesco, Pioneer and Marine Air are no better but 200 to 300% more than this one. He will lower the price once the tech work cost is recovered I think. And, Yes I started on him on the web site, and then 20+ emails with him pushing him to use the brushless hub style motors, the 3 stage compressors and PNP/NPN thyristor based controllers over the driver on Mosfet style which got his version really to almost 20% less power use than all others similar that are made by FTG. Most all importing sellers are happy with doing a mod or 2 on something then rebranding it and selling it. This guy Zhou was not one of them thankfully. Thicker case, embedded structure, 2.3mm over 1.70mm seals. I was on the train of CHEAPER for my viewers and to get the roof mount models designed for in cabinet mounting, Hoping to get my ideas on blowers, controllers, and parts added to them. And now a through the wall model me and him are still working on based on this case version and a split chassis. Hope to see it this summer.

It shares certain efficiency features with a mini split, but it's not a mini split, which is defined as ductless with an indoor unit and an outdoor unit connected via freon lines; this is a unified ducted unit. I'd compare it to a twin-ducted portable... but seems far more efficient and more flexible, not to mention more well designed.

So, you don't have to put a tube to the outside at all? I have a dehumidifier in one room and the condensation water goes into a 5 gal bucket. Once a day or so, I'll pour it all out onto my plants. You could build a little compartment inside so the same thing could be done with what comes out of that a/c.

It has a drain tube, you can drop it through the floor by drilling a 1/2" hole in the RV floor, Pick careful not to hit a beam or wiring. But you can as we do salvage it into a small tank for re-use. This AC unit is so impressive, I am considering getting 3 for my house as well.

Got tons of stuff made deals on, but we have been working away from the home and shop to try and build up funds again. This You Tube thing is getting so $$ bad in a DEI way of nutty wokeness against certain folks that don't meet their preferred minority or gender standards and with the fast shrinking little ad pay they offer that we have to work nearly full time jobs again to get by. That's is why now almost every uploader now is pulling full 2 minute of more junk product ads on you and mega corporation sponsorships but we just hate that idea and won't do it. So it's costing us in big.

Hello, neat looking unit. I have a 400 square foot room which is well insulated in central Florida. I have been collecting 100 watt solar panels. I have 4 so far. Am I correct in that I will just need this ac unit , 4 batteries and 12 - 14 more panels to run 24/7 ? PS I plan to set the thermostat at 80 degrees. Thanks so much !!
@JOHNDANIEL1

In your area, use this model. s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DllEBGH and add at least 2 good 200 to 230 AH battery, 3 should be a target for all night use ( dirt cheap, $150 off now and rock solid is TIME USB ) amzn.to/4dnOQz7 and yes, about 15 panels with 3 - 40 amp controllers ( 500 watts into each 40 amp mppt) should do you justice. Use the RICH SOLAR panels amzn.to/4bmzaJX if you want more Hurricane resistive frames and glass. Avoid the newest 9bb ( 9 buss bar ) versions and get the 5bb. Many are seeing fast deterioration with the 9bb panels. The 5bb Cheaper, and are tougher, and more stable.

How many hours will it run on the 4 batteries?
@JOHNDANIEL1
@JOHNDANIEL1 25 күн бұрын
I suspect your a Semi Driver? The one in the Amazon or Aliexpress link under the video is better with 7.2 to a little over 8 hours on those 4 fully charged depending on the truck or heat outside, but if your doing a 10 hour DOT stop you will want to use a pair of TIME 230AH amzn.to/4e08Nvk (safer terminal design in a truck ) and they are cheaper than the 4 singles and totally with the current sale. You will need a 60 amp Auto DC to LiFePO4 DC charger amzn.to/4dP6FGT and 4 awg cables to get them charged in use from the truck alternator but it pays for itself fast in fuel and lack of sleep caused by the truck running. I have rigged up 4 in semi trucks. Even the Mack Vision the last one I done can get over 9 hours of AC without buying another $2930 APU generator for his truck. It was $600 cheaper plus no fuel to do it with these. Get you a 20 amp charger wired in so When your home its fully charged and ready to go.

@@JOHNDANIEL1 thanks for the reply. I am looking to install this in my semi. I currently have 4 AMG 100AH batteries would the 2 230AH replace all 4 or just replace 2 and keep 2 AMG and still have a total of 4 batteries? I looked up these batteries and they’re around the same price I paid for my AMG 6 months ago wish known then haha. 7 hours of run time might be plenty but not sure how these AMG will hold up as I also have my electric cooler plugged in my inverter. Also if I did replace all 4 AMG with 4 of the 230AH batteries would I still need the 60 Amp charger? Thanks again really appreciate it.
@JOHNDANIEL1
@JOHNDANIEL1 25 күн бұрын
Just 2 of the 230AH will do it. Right now they are almost down to $399 due to a warehouse change. I already got one RV guy to grab 6 for his system. But 2 will do fine on your plan. You still should use the DC to DC charger though to protect them from the wild power of the alternators that can happen during start ups. The AGM set you have can remain dedicated to the truck and inverter/refrigerator items. The LiFePO4 is not a great starting battery, it's a true deep cycle so get the DC to DC unit.

Daniels, with Santan solar selling such inexpensive solar panels (previously owned), why would you put lower power panels on when you could be putting on 400W+ used panels getting 4X power in almost the same place?
@JOHNDANIEL1
@JOHNDANIEL1 7 ай бұрын
Simple, Hail Stones! Many of the panels they are selling are salvaged from that container ship that sat in the Atlantic for a month under salt water, then the insurance warehouse till auctioned off. The rest are panels from Walmarts and Sams Clubs that were over stressed by them running them at full DC rate to tons of micro inverters that failed against them and replaced in 2021-22 already being 4 to7+ years old. But for me, a 400 watt panel is a massive target for hail and with a small 100 watt panel If I loose 1 or 2 I am down a little power, if I loose a 400 watt I am hurt real bad. I prefer the extra cost to get the extra redundancy and warranty.

Top Stacking protected vents IN and OUT amzn.to/4b2mRD7 ( should be about 5" but verify ) with basic IN/OUT pair of back draft swing check. amzn.to/4aysuJg . It is smarter to UP SIZE the vents if possible, so using a 6" on a 5" tube is wise, less restrictions. Under 50 decibels unless on TURBO then about as loud as a small window unit. After installing in a vintage RV the oven vent fan was louder. The DC model from that Aliexpress site below the video is now with the scroll compressor so it is cheaper and easier install.
