I just replaced the battery for my old ipad 2 in March 2023 since there are some apps I still want that is not supported on later versions of ipad os. It is not necessary to dismantle everything as mentioned in this video actually. Anyway this video is beneficial to some extent still for a first timer like me.

Just replacing 30 pin socket, so can i reuse the sticky glue by pressing down and using gun to make it tacky with some light pressure on top around edges for a few hours?

Really well presented video, love the 'x-ray' showing the places to be aware of. Long shot, but does anybody know if you can strip a USB cable and directly connect wires to terminals on battery to charge? OS is blocking charging (and iTunes errors when attempting to reinstall in DFU).

Great video, would have been good to have the assembly too, but gets the job done

My power button is not working, which I hope is a software issue, and I don’t want to replace the battery. I just want to disconnect it, so the power will be completely cut off for some time. Then I will reconnect it. (My battery is good.) I already have the screens folded away from the battery/motherboard. How do I just disconnect the battery, without going through all the steps to completely remove the motherboard? Is there an easy way to cut off the battery connection ?

if new batteries are no good, you will have to re open and start again !! muh better when you have taken off LCD connect a cable to a spare charge port and connet to motherboard where the old port does, if ipad now recieves power you just change port, if port test makes no differene then replace batteries, if still nothing your ipad is spares only

Apple gave very complex process.. they would have given an option to open the back cover directly and change the battery.... I gave my iPad 2 for battery change and the service people ended up in breaking the screen itself in the first step.. :(

The shitful music makes this hard to listen to and the far too frequent omission of the definite article, 'the' is worse than robot speech. This is a great object lesson in how not to make an instructional video.

You really have to be joking. This is another good reason for not buying an iPad. It's overrated, overpriced and overengineered.

They made it too hard to work on and too easy to tear cables when opening it.
